Fans compare how Blackpink's entire discography has the same number of songs as one Taylor Swift album leading them to doubt the girl group's talent

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: If there is one girl group that is loaded with controversy in everything they do it is Blackpink. From the time they made their debut, there had been constant comparisons between Blackpink and its contemporaries. Despite this, the 2016 four-member girl group, Blackpink eventually rose to the top and has come to be the biggest girl group in the world.

However, there have still been questions about Blackpink's musical talent as recent reports concluded that the girl group has released a total of 32 songs over their entire career. In the list of songs released by Blackpink, the media reported the YG Entertainment girl group's total official releases from the debut as well as other songs that were released by Blackpink as part of a collaboration, particularly their Samsung collab track, 'Awesome Screen, Awesome Camera' from 2019.

Blackpink slammed for not writing their own songs

Blackpink's entire discography is now being compared to the International pop singer, Taylor Swift's 2021 album, 'Red' which by itself had a total of 30 songs. This has fans of K-pop wonder why a musical girl group is so popular when the members are incapable of writing their own songs and have released so few songs across the span of their six-year career. Out of the 32 songs listed in the survey, six tracks have not even been released yet and are soon to be released under Blackpink's 2022 full-length album, 'Born Pink' which drops on September 16.

Blinks (fans of Blackpink) claim that YG Entertainment has been limiting the girl group over the years and that is the reason behind the lack of self-written songs from the Blackpink members. While trolls claim that Blackpink does not have any talent, fans allege that it is YG Entertainment that is not using the talented girls to their full potential. One fan said, "I never get it why they scrapped lots of songs and like for what? i really dont get how yg thinks." Another fan said, "Fr i have the same question as well, more songs could bring them more money, so why they keep gatekeeping blackpink potential songs?" 

'How the f**k do they still have fans?'

Fans of K-pop are appalled by the fame Blackpink enjoys despite having not many releases over their career. One fan said, "And I still don't know how the f**k do they still have fans. The thing here is that 90% of their songs sound more similar, only like 4 songs sound different." One more fan argued, "It's because Tay can make the lyrics herself." Another fan said, "Just curious why is awesome screen awesome camera last? Some songs weren't even released yet." One fan responded, "Bcs they would be whining if we left out anything."

YG wtf…" Another fan said, "They really are the biggest scam in music industry." One fan said, "No hate to blackpink, but it's just weird a gg from 2016 has only 32 songs and some are collab." Another fan mocked, "Twice girls have written and produced more songs than whole Blackpink career lol." One more fan said, "They didn't even have 40 songs in their six-year debut and their contracts will expire next year. Even though they debuted in the same year as NCT."

One more fan said, "Blackpink is so lucky in life. They don’t deserve what they have." Another fan responded, "It's mediaplay and climbing over artists girl." One fan joked, "The good part is that they can perform the whole discography on tour."
