Blackpink may be the biggest K-pop girl group of the present time but their discography does not speak about the dedication Blinks have for Blackpink. With fans demanding a comeback for the group, reports from YG Entertainment regarding their plans for artists under the label release suggest that Blackpink could make a comeback in May of 2022. That is not all though as another report analyzing Blackpink’s discography has shocked fans.

The now-viral report revealed that ever since their debut in 2016, Blackpink has only released a total of 21 songs with their last release being ‘Lovesick Girls’ that released back in October 2021. That is right, the total number of songs released by Blackpink in the last seven years is very limited and fans are now raising their concerns about the future of Blackpink. However the shockingly low number of songs from the group include Blacpink’s b-side tracks, fans laud the fact how the group was able to achieve the success that they have with such a small discography, they are also concerned about the future of Blackpink.

Will Blackpink drop a mini-album in May?

After it was suddenly alleged that Blackpink is ready to make its debut in May of 2022 according to YG’s yearly reports, it was pointed out that the label plans to drop a mini-album from Blackpink. Blinks who are aware of Blackpink’s ‘21 song’ discography are now expressing their rage at the label. Usually, mini-albums only have around 5 to 7 songs but, given the fact that Blackpink has not released any new music over the last 18 months, the least that fans expected was a studio album in the least if not solo projects for members Jisoo and Jennie.

With almost two years of the group being on a hiatus, fans worry that Blackpink will not be able to hold a concert with only a mini-album as one angry fan said, “So they said comeback with mini album? after that what? they will give the girls a tour again? with that mini album? TF.” One more fan said, “It looks like #BLACKPINK will have a #comeback with a new mini-album in May.” Another fan said, “I’ve been seeing “BLACKPINK MINI ALBUM”?? I better not see that in that company’s account or else.”

Furious with the rumored mini-album comeback news for Blackpink, fans are really lashing out at YG Entertainment as one said, “A MINI ALBUM. FOR BLACKPINK. IN 2022. AFTER A BARE MINIMUM FULL WLBUM. OOOOO IM ABOUT TO COMMIT A CRIME.” Another fan said, “please stop i feel ficking ill someone please tell me this is a joke…” One more fan said, “Hiatus for a long time and we just only got a mini album?” One angry fan said, “I cameback only to see news about blackpink cb with a mini album, fck you YG.”

Another fan said, “We've been waiting two years just for the comeback of blackpink and for a new song,then Blackpink might comeback for just a mini album only?please we want new Blackpink song,not that mini album…” One fan said, “Almost 2 years of waiting and preparation and yg will only give blackpink a mini album. wtf is that yg blackpink deserves better.” One more fan said, “Are we boycotting the mini album just this once just so they can feel the impact? It's like they're only giving blackpink a comeback to earn big money then bench them again for the rainy days.”
