Blackpink fans lose hope for a 2022 comeback as YG announces Winner's album after 27 months
It is always war in the Blackpink fandom when they notice that their girls are not getting the same treatment as their contemporaries and this new announcement from YG Entertainment is a new reason for Blinks (fans of Blackpink) to rage at the label. On June 8, it was announced that the four-member boy group from YG Entertainment, Winner (stylized as WINNER), would be making a comeback this July after a hiatus of two years and three months. The report stated that the boy group is currently preparing a new album with the goal of releasing it in July while members have already finished working on the songs for the album and were presently filming a music video for the lead single.
The report stated that even though the detailed schedule for the album release was not confirmed, the new comeback album from Winner is expected to be released in July. Winner released their last album, 'Remember', back in April 2020, which was their last comeback before the boys enlisted in the military. But, it seems like much more attention is being paid to the way the label, YG Entertainment treats Blackpink. The label manages the activities of both Winner as well as the four-member girl group Blackpink but it seems like fans are unhappy how Winner basically took the spot from Blackpink as they will be making a comeback before the girls.

YG announces a Winner comeback before Blackpink
The girl group first made its debut in 2016, but ever since, they have released a total of 25 songs which is quite limited considering the number of years they have been in the industry. Fans of the girl group are happy to support their girls' solo or brand ventures but it seems like the label is starting to take Blinks for granted. Blackpink last released 'The Album', their first full-length album with the title track, 'How You Like That' back in October of 2020, and have been MIA as a group since then.
With no group activities and music releases, fans of the girl group were have been tired of YG Entertainment prioritizing boy groups over Blackpink. Initially, it was reported that Blackpink would be making not one but two comebacks this year but now, considering Winner will be making a new comeback after 27 months of a hiatus, it seems like Blackpink's new album will too be pushed back to the last three months of 2022 or possibly to 2023.

'Are you kidding me? YG we need our girls'
Fans are calling out the boy group for keeping their only girl group, Blackpink, on a hiatus for almost the same time as the boy group Winner was enlisted in the military. One Blink said, "The fact that blackpink will have the very same headline when they comeback as a complete group after 2 years is so funny cos youd think they went into the military with the winner members." One fan said, "Time and time again it shows how @ygent_official prioritizes their boygroups and not @BLACKPINK. I can understand Winner is coming back after 2 years hiatus as a group due to military enlistment, but announcing a Treasure comeback this summer before BP?" One more fan said, "Winner getting the comeback announcement and blackpink 2 years without announcement and the cb date??? ARE U KIDDING ME YG F**K YOU YG WE NEED OUR GIRLS."
One fan alleged, "Blinks, 1/2 of winner were in the military for the past 2 years and blackpink didn't get a comeback back then either. why do you think they're taking the girls' spot now?" One angry fan said, "WE DONT GIVE A F**K WHERES BLACKPINK." One fan said, "#Blackpinkdisband I said what I said. Four girls in their prime time doing nothing except for some brand deals. They are musicians first." One fan said, "Giving comebacks to flop and forgettable groups but not BLACKPINK I am so pissed." One more fan said, "I’m done I’m sorry."
One fan dissed, "BLACKPINK to reportedly not making a comeback with a new album in 2022. They have already finished recording songs and currently yg blocking them as usual. Source: YG." One hopeful fan said, "Jisoo said "I didn't raise blinks to be weak" so let's wait for Blackpink and support them always, but we won't sit idly by either. We need to put pressure on YG and make BP's next comeback the biggest in 2022!"
