Chadwick Boseman's brother joins the movement for Marvel's T'Challa to be recast

Chadwick Boseman's brother Derrick Boseman has spoken up and joined the fan movement to have the iconic 'Black Panther' character T'Challa be recast. The role which was previously played by his late brother remains a very important one that carries cultural significance to Black people across the globe. Youth all over finally had a superhero they could relate to and look up to, so carrying on his legacy is quite an important subject.

Derrick told TMZ that he believed his brother would have wanted the character to be recast so as to take the story forward. He told them that he does think T'Challa needs to live on in the 'Black Panther' franchise, and if that means bringing in another actor to play the king of Wakanda, then that's the way it should be. He continued saying that Chadwick knew the power of the character, and the positive influence it carries and that killing off T'Challa from the MCU is just depriving black kids of a role model.

Derrick says there aren't a lot of positive influences for young black children these days and thinks hip-hop glorifies certain social ills. But Marvel has a chance to counteract that by bringing back T'Challa, who he sees as a symbol of Black people's potential. Fans thoroughly agree and have been pushing for this action for a while now. Here are who they'd like to see play the King of Wakanda if the the character was to be recast.

A fan commented, "i just hope they pick the right person when they recast #BlackPanther". Another fan weighed in saying, "Replying to@MyTimeToShineH Sean Patrick could be the next #BlackPantherWakandaForever #BlackPanther2 #BlackPanther #RecastTchalla". A tweet read, "Lookswise, Trevante Rhodes could work. Or maybe even an unknown talent? But yeah, I’m with you. It’s so hard and a little painful to imagine anyone but Chadwick in the role. He’s our Forever #BlackPanther."

Another fan said, "I loved #ChadwickBoseman's #BlackPanther -but the role must be treated like other beloved franchise characters, like The Doctor, James Bond, etc., and other Black Actors should be given the OPPORTUNITY to play this role, @MarvelStudios #RecastTchalla ".A user said, "if it needs to happen… let it be. damson idris will be a great t’challa/black panther. ___ #Marvel #BlackPanther #WakandaForever #Snowfall". Another Marvel fan commented, "Even Chadwick's brother supports it #RecastTchalla #BlackPanther so...".
