'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 6: A revolution is brewing in Freeland and the A.S.A is about to get their just desserts

After the tragic death of Tavon Singley in Episode 5, the resentment that's been building in Freeland is finally starting to reach a breaking point. The people are close to reaching that point where they're too angry to remember to be scared and there's no telling what could happen.

For far too long, the A.S.A has been ruling Freeland with an iron fist. Under their "protection", the citizens of Freeland have been beaten, silenced, and arrested with little to no warning at the slightest suspicion. So far, it looked as if Freeland's Acting Chief of Police, Inspector William Henderson (Damon Gupton) was going along with the A.S.A's plans but now things have changed.

In 'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 5, Henderson finally reveals that he's not a collaborator as everyone believes. In fact, he's the leader of the resistance.

After the tragic death of Tavon Singley (Jasun Jabbar) in Episode 5, the resentment that's been building in Freeland is finally starting to reach a breaking point. The people are close to reaching that point where they're too angry to remember to be scared and once they realize that the A.S.A can't kill all of them, there's no telling what could happen.

Talking as a viewer, Tavon's death feels like it was unnecessary. Sure, his parents wanted to know he was still alive but Anissa Pierce / Blackbird (Nafessa Williams) could have done that just as easily by bringing Tavon's messages back to his parents as he wanted. Painkiller (Jordan Calloway) may have been the one who actually killed Tavon but Anissa knew it was risky to sneak someone into the city and she had a much better option right in front of her, which she chose not to take.

In any case, Tavon's death has clearly made Freeland a tinder box and when the A.S.A beat up Jefferson Pierce / Black Lightning (Cress Williams) in front of his own school, it was the last straw. Now a revolution is coming, and the A.S.A won't know what hit them. There's no telling how this whole war will go and there's still the Markovians to be considered but until now there was no hope for Freeland. Now, there is.

'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 6 will air on The CW on November 18.
