LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix's 'Black Knight' is out and we are loving it. Korean dramas are building a foundation in the world of entertainment and creating a benchmark for future filmmakers. After the phenomenal success of 'Squid Games', 'Black Knight' is following the same footsteps, but travelling way into the future and stepping into the post-apocalyptic world with class disparity issues. There is thrill, drama and blood baths, with brownie points for Kim Woo-bin's acting and good looks. It is a great thriller that will satisfy viewers who love 'Squid Games' and are waiting for the fantasy-thriller to make a comeback with Season 2.

'Black Knight' is set in a severely polluted and dystopian part of Korea, where survivors depend on respirators to breathe and deliverymen to provide them with oxygen and other survival needs. 5-8 (Kim Woo-bin), a well-respected deliveryman works to overthrow the crooked social hierarchy created by the powerful Cheonmyeong Group. The cast also includes, Kang Yoo-seok, Esom and Song Seung-heon in the lead.

The final showdown

While trying to survive, the lead characters understand that the big corporation that built the survival camps is purposely polluting the country to stay afloat. They want to have people be dependent on them for everything. 5-8, Sa-wol and Intelligence general Seol-ah join a mission to overthrow the dictatorship and put an end to the unfair social order. That is when 5-8 goes against the rules and brings together other deliverymen together to fight against the unfair social practices.

Does 5-8 overthrow the Cheonmyeong Group?

For everyone, who is here just to know the end and if the good actually wins over evil, the answer is yes. 5-8 ends the unfair social power structure by killing the head of Cheonmyeong Group by shooting him in the head and then in the chest, ultimately killing him. After that, 5-8 rescues people trapped under their rule and brings them out of the building. Post that, he blows the building with dead Ryu Seok still in it and safely brings people to a violence-free zone. After Ryu Seok 's death, the Cheonmyeong Group collapses both figuratively and literally. Construction on District A is complete, and refugees are the first to be moved in. There’s no longer a social disparity separating the population into refugee, general, special, and core. Everyone is equal. Lastly, the government is working steadily to improve the oxygen supply system, and the air quality is getting better.
