With Coachella being one of the biggest music festivals, it is only fitting that BIGBANG, one of the biggest K-pop boy groups, would reunite at its 2022 edition. BIGBANG was one of the most popular groups and was responsible for the Hallyu Wave and bringing K-pop to the West with viral hits like ‘Bang Bang Bang’ and ‘Fantastic Baby’. Known as the ‘Kings of K-pop’, they have had a very successful career in South Korea, as well as internationally. Theirs was the first K-pop album to chart on Billboard 200 and swept global award shows like MTV EMAs.

BIGBANG was also mentioned by Forbes as one of the most influential celebrities and the band constantly topped major South Korean music charts. It had sold-out world tours and was even invited to prestigious events like the 2014 Asian Games. Following the K-pop group’s last comeback in 2016, the group, unfortunately, started their military era. South Korean males till the age of 30 have to enlist in mandatory military service. They did drop one goodbye single titled ‘Flower Road’ in 2018 but that has been it from them till now.

BIGBANG’s reunion delayed due to the pandemic

Like everyone’s plans, the Covid-19 pandemic ruined the BIGBANG reunion we were supposed to get at Coachella 2020. The current four members have renewed their contracts with their label YG and assured fans that they are all still part of BIGBANG. And so fans are simply waiting for when we will get a comeback from them. Well, there might be some good news in 2022. With the pandemic getting under control, in-person events like concerts have once again resumed. In fact, we finally got some news on the next edition of Coachella.

The music festival has been in the news for the last couple of weeks. We first had indignant fans wondering why Jay Z would put down Michael Jackson by stating that he could never headline Coachella like Beyonce. It follows the news that Travis Scott has been removed from Coachella 2022 following the Astroworld festival tragedy. And with celebrities and media talking about Coachella 2022, BIGBANG fans are silently lying in wait to get some more information on the reunion comeback of the K-pop group.

BIGBANG at Coachella 2022?

Well, detective fans have been going through the information we currently have on the next edition of Coachella. With California finally getting control over the pandemic, the festival which is held in Coachella Valley in California is confirmed to be happening if no other untimely outbreaks take place from April 15 to 24, 2022. And while Travis Scott has been removed from the lineup, there have been no changes yet for the remaining artists that were supposed to perform in 2020.

And so, it seems that BIGBANG just might be reuniting at Coachella 2022. There have also been insiders reporting that the K-pop group is currently working on its next album with even the members hinting at something exciting that is coming soon. If they follow the footsteps of their labelmate Blackpink, BIGBANG just might release their next album a week before Coachella so that fans can get fresh music and performances. Blackpink released the iconic 'Kill This Love' in April 2019, a week before they became the first K-pop group to perform at Coachella in 2019.
