BIGBANG's Taeyang and Min Hyorin welcome first child, fans say 'Fantastic Baby'

One fan made a pun with BIGBANG's viral song ‘Fantastic Baby’, and posted 'Taeyang is officially a daddy now. Wow, Fantastic Baby!'

BIGBANG’s Taeyang is the latest idol to announce the birth of his child. We previously had the likes of iKON’s Bobby and EXO’s Chen welcoming their children and fans couldn’t be happier. At the same time, it was reported on December 6 that former F.T. Island star Oh Wonbin had announced his marriage after the birth of his child with his future wife. Older generation fans are overjoyed that despite the tiring life of a K-pop idol, their favorites have gone on to find love and start a family of their own.

BIGBANG’s Taeyang first met actress Min Hyorin in 2014. Min Hyorin is a model, singer and actress who has been in K-dramas like ‘Persevere, Goo Hae-ra’ and in music videos of artists like F.T. Island, B.A.P, 2PM and Taeyang himself. She was featured in the BIGBANG member’s music video ‘1AM’ and that’s where they first met. And it turns out G-Dragon was the one who had recommended Taeyang to cast Min Hyorin in his music video.

Taeyang and Min Hyorin welcome a son

The ‘1AM’ music video was quite sensuous with the two even sharing a kiss onscreen and they ended up going public as a couple in the same year. They revealed that Taeyang was quite the romantic as he wrote her love letters and even dedicated the song ‘Eyes, Nose, Lips’ to her. Min Hyorin married him in February 2018, a month after which he enlisted for his mandatory military service. He was discharged in November 2019 along with his BIGBANG member Daesung. Later, in September 2021, YG Entertainment confirmed that the couple were expecting their first child.

Well, on December 6, there were reports that Min Hyorin had given birth to her child. In response, YG and Hyorin’s agency Plum confirmed that Taeyang and his wife had indeed welcomed their first son. We also had Vogue Korea reporting that in the meantime, Taeyang was working on a new BIGBANG album with his members. Their last comeback was in 2016 and last non-album single was in 2018.

Excited fans trended BIGBANG and Taeyang as they showered their love and support. One fan made a pun with BIGBANG's viral song ‘Fantastic Baby’, “Taeyang is officially a daddy now. Wow, Fantastic Baby!” Another brought back an old video, “Now vips, it's time to watch this clip again of bigbang recommending Baby names to Youngbae :') I AM DEFINITELY CRYING.” One VIP commented, “When the baby grows up, I hope he  will know that VIP from all the world loved him before he was born and that we were always happy for his parents and feel proud of his family bcs they are the example of true love and unconditional support.” Another joked, “VIPs coming to Twitter to boast that we are already aunts.”
