BIGBANG and IVE fans clash over 'tough competition' ahead of groups' same day comeback

Although fandoms clashing in K-pop is not a big deal as it is made out to be, fan wars are usually fueled by competition among the artists involved. Be it Blackpink vs BTS or EXO vs BIGBANG, fans of all these groups have been pitted against each other for some reason or the other. Starship Entertainment’s rookie girl group IVE made their debut with the single, ‘Eleven’ and unlike many other rookie girl groups from the fourth generation of K-pop, the six-member girl group has broken many records with their debut single.

IVE announced their comeback with their second single album, ‘Love Dive’ which releases on April 5 but fans of the girl group could not help but notice how the rookie girl group was making their comeback on the same day as K-pop legendary group BIGBANG. Fans of K-pop are aware that the second-generation YG Entertainment boy group BIGBANG is one of the few pioneers of K-pop that took the genre of music global. The four-member boy group announced a comeback after their four-year-long hiatus where the group will release their new Spring single on April 5.

Having to witness two K-pop groups make a comeback on the same day is just as exhilarating as it can get but now Dives (fans of IVE) are worried that with the monstrous second-gen boy group that is BIGBANG and their humungous fandom, that is V.I.Ps, the rookie girls will find it difficult to make their upcoming comeback stand out. IVE is going to release their upcoming single, ‘Love Dive’ which is a dedication to their fans - Dives, and just as it may be one of the most important comebacks for the rookie girl group, BIGBANG fans have waited for the last four years to see their favorites make a comeback.

This upcoming single that is soon to be released from BIGBANG will also mark their first-ever comeback as four members after Seungri’s departure and will mean something different to fans as many wonders if the boy group would disband after this. All these things considered, some fans of IVE are worried that having a comeback on the same day as BIGBANG will not work in favor of the rookie girl group. One fan said, “IVE IS ACTUALLY DONE FOR.” One more said, “Can starship make Ive comeback transfer by some days like 2-3 day would be good. Some fans of IVE were not really toxic as one fan said, “It will be tough for ive to win this time because bigbang comeback too but its fine, they already achieve a lot as a rookie.” One hopeful fan of IVE said, “Cant wait for the moment love dive organically rise in the charts :< the song must be really a banger huhuhuhu.” One scared Dive said, “Bigbang just announced their comeback same day as ive.. and my dc girls are having a comeback early April.. oh god the timing.” Another fan said, “IVE comeback is the same day as BIGBANG’S comeback. Tough competition but atleast we getting two bops.” Another fan said, “Bigbang comeback same day as ive… if lovedive dosent get monster digitals like eleven we r absolutely f*cked.”
