ATHENS, GREECE: In the most recent episode of 'Below Deck Mediterranean' Season 9, Chef Johnathan Shillingford found himself in hot water with Captain Sandy Yawn.

During their conversation, Sandy mentioned to Johnathan that the main guest had approached her earlier that morning with complaints about the overpowering spices and cold eggs at breakfast. She expressed confusion as to why this had happened.

Johnathan explained that he had received a note requesting breakfast at 8.30 am, and he had prepared it accordingly. However, the meal was delayed due to the guests having a slower morning. He attempted to contact them to keep them informed.

Sandy was bewildered as she began to comprehend the reason behind why the charter guests on the lavish yacht were served cold eggs. It was a moment of realization that left her feeling incredulous. She couldn't believe that such a mistake had been made on a vessel known for its luxury and high standards.

As she reflected on the incident, Sandy couldn't help but wonder how a simple oversight could occur in such a prestigious setting. The experience left her disappointed and a desire for better communication and coordination among the crew to ensure that such mishaps do not happen again in the future.

She reminded him to ensure that the eggs were cooked according to the customer's preference the next day. After meekly saying he would "check in with interior," Jono hastily left the room.

Sandy who had been in the industry for decades, later revealed in a confessional interview the reasons behind her apprehension towards Jono's abilities.

“For a chef to say to me that he cooked the eggs when breakfast was supposed to start, instead of cooking to order, is a huge red flag,” Sandy said.

She went on to say, “But at the same time, he did well last charter. We’re mid-charter now. I have to give the chef the opportunity to show me that he can do this. Finish this one strong. And then I will assess the next charter.”
