Astro’s Jinjin appears on fishing show a year after request, fans say ‘deserves better’

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Astro's JinJin and Moonbin are the next K-pop idols to guest on the fun Channel A variety show 'City Fisherman'. And with JinJin already being an expert at it, Arohas (Astro's fandom) were excited about his appearance on the fishing show. However, him revealing that it took him a year to get on the show has fans frustrated.

Also known as 'The Fishermen and the City', season 3 is holding a fishing contest with celebrity guests like Block B's Jaehyo, Lee Jinhyuk, DKZ's Jaechan, comedian Kang Jae-joon and Astro's Moonbin and JinJin. They will b pairing up with expert fishers and compete in the Chuseok holiday special. While asking each guest about their thoughts on the episode, JinJin said that he had been sending love calls for a year.

Astro's JinJin took a year to appear on the show

While this is Moonbin and Jaechan's first time on the fishing show Block B's Jaehyo is a regular and had also appeared last year in season 2. Astro's leader, JinJin who loves fishing shared that if he could, he would guest on the fishing show for 365 days. On top of it, he also added that he had been sending in requests to 'City Fisherman' since last year. On hearing this, fans were disappointed that he had to handle his schedules on his own instead of his label, Fantagio Music.

Apart from one sub-unit release, JinJin has lesser solo schedules compared to the other Fantagio artists. He had also shared he wanted to go fishing in August 2021. And so, Arohas are doing their best to make Astro's fishing episode a success. It will be airing on September 10 at 10:20 pm KST (9:20 am ET) on Channel A and its YouTube channel. Fans also ended up trending JinJin as they hyped him up.

An Aroha was shocked, "Wait so you mean Jinjin approached that fishing show?????? Wtf Fantagio. CAN'T MY MAN GET ATLEAST ONE APPEARANCE OR GUESTING?? Absolutely doing nothing for him. They are already in a big loss by hiding jinjin's talent. IDK I'M SO DONE WITH THAT COMPANY NOW." One fan wrote, "Jinjin deserves so much more." Another Aroha flexed, "Jinjin isn't just "the best leader". He's literally an amazing dancer, a great musician, he made bop ass smacking lickin good songs, he gives soul to astro's song like yk it's astro's song if you hear jinjin's voice in it, an absolute crazy rapper with his unique voice.."

One fan tweeted, "I feel so sad that Jinjin had to do this on his own fanmu stop holding him up." Another Aroha posted, "Jinjin deserves better. And I'm not only talking about fantagio. It's easy to always blame the company but some arohas need to support him more. I saw many "let's support"engage jinjin" today and the views still doesn't increase. It's easy to talk and act like you care here ..." One added, "It has been SIX YEARS. Why does Jinjin have to beg (for a year?!) to be on a fishing show? I have so much to say about this, but Fanta better start capitalizing on his talents immediately and y'all need to start hyping him too."
