With just four days left for 2021 to end, content platforms and entertainment committees are busy with their year-end lists and award shows, honoring those who made a huge impact this year. South Korea is practically dominating the global entertainment industry this year. In the drama industry, we have ‘Squid Game’ being nominated at international award shows like Critics’ Choice, People’s Choice and even the Golden Globes. At the same time, K-pop has taken over Western music shows with BTS making history at the MTV EMAs, AMAs and Grammys. And now we have the Asian Pop Music Awards 2021.

Other music industries also have seen an influx of idols with GOT7’s Jackson and EXO’s Lay representing K-pop in China, Eric Nam entering Bollywood, Blackpink having a big night at Brazil’s BreakTudo Awards while TXT rule in Japan. For the Asian Pop Music Awards 2021, we had winners from China like THE9, Japanese rockstar Kenshi Yonezu, English popstar Adele and K-pop acts like EXO, Blackpink members and Hyuna.
