'Another Willy Wonka movie?': Timothee Chalamet's return to 'Wonka' set for reshoots puzzles fans

Roald Dahl's most-loved character is being recreated by Warner Bros. Discovery, and Timothee Chalamet is playing the lead in the prequel film

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Timothee Chalamet never stops and is constantly seen pursuing project after project. The 'Call Me By Your Name' star is back with another awaited prequel, 'Wonka'. Roald Dahl's most-loved character is being recreated by Warner Bros. Discovery, and the acclaimed young actor is playing the lead in the prequel film that will trace way back to the origins of the chocolate factory owner, years before Wonka met Charlie. The movie was announced back in 2021 and was a spin-off to the 2005 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', directed by Tim Burton, which starred Freddie Highmore as the sweet and innocent, Charlie Bucker and Johnny Depp as the charming Willy Wonka. After the project came to a stop several times, the filming just completed several months ago, but some final touches are still pending. 

The news of Chalamet going back to the sets of 'Wonka' to do reshoots of the film was revealed, and since then arrived many reactions from the fans on the internet.

'Johnny Depp was the best Willy Wonka'

There were many reactions to the news of Timothee going back for reshoots for the prequel movie, "damn they literally can’t think of anything original anymore" said a user, with another, "Another Willy Wonka movie jesus". While some were happy, some were just disappointed as the project has been in work for the last two years, "So I sense that the release date of the "Wonka" movie will be delay for the third time. #Wonka #Movie #TimotheeChalamet" added a user, "Johnny Depp was the best Willy Wonka", while another supported Johnny Depp's character as the owner of the chocolate factory. 

Another user raised a question with, "Another Willy Wonka movie?What's different about this one?", "Wait reshoots?," chimed another. Some fans didn't like the idea of the original masterpiece 'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory' being created and made a statement with, "They never needed to remake this classic in the first place." 

Who will star in 'Wonka'?

Besides the 'Bones and All' star as Wonka, the prequel will feature Paterson Joseph as Arthur Slugworth, one of Willy's chocolatier nemesis. Rowan Atkinson will also do a supposed cameo in the film alongside 'Godzilla' actress Sally Hawkins and Oscar-winner Olivia Colman. The star-studded cast will be completed with Matt Lucas, Keegan-Michael Key, Jim Carter, Natasha Rothwell, Tom Davis, Mathew Baynton, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
