NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Netflix's biopic on Marilyn Monroe titled ‘Blonde’ has been garnering positive reviews across the globe. The film starring Ana de Armas in the lead with Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, and Xavier Samuel in prominent roles might have become the favorite of film festivals but a horrific graphic rape scene seems to have sparked hatred against the flick.

‘Blonde’ which is all set to stream on Netflix on September 28, features a graphic scene where Ana de Armas as Monroe is brutally raped by President John F Kennedy. The film claims to show the late actress’ loneliness and struggles but the movie might be fictionalized take, based on the 2000 novel written by Joyce Carol Oates. Social media users slammed the Netflix movie calling it “sick” and “disgusting.”

One of the scenes features secret service agents dragging Marilyn into a hotel room, where President JFK played by Phillipson is seen waiting for her in bed. “Am I glad to see you, baby. It’s been one Hell of a day,' says Kennedy commanding to him a hand job- all while watching the Friendship 7 rocket launch on television.

The president, according to The Daily Mail then grabs the back of Marilyn's head and forces her to perform oral sex on him for over a minute-and-a-half. The camera focuses on Monroe’s shocked face when JFK calls her a 'dirty s**t' and tells her, “Baby, don’t be shy, come on.” The audience then gets to hear Monroe speaking to herself saying, “Just don’t puke. Don’t cough. Don’t gag. You have to swallow,” before the president ejaculates into her mouth. The president then throws Monroe on the bed and jumps on top of her. The scene then cuts to Monroe waking up in bed with bruises all over her body, before running to the bathroom to throw up.

While, there is no record of JFK ever sexually assaulting Marilyn Monroe, a Netflix documentary released in April called ‘The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes’, shows friends, biographers, and private investigators alleging that the actress had consensual affairs with both John F Kennedy and Robert Kennedy.

Director Andrew Dominik previously defended the film to Screen Daily, stating, “It’s a demanding movie. If the audience doesn’t like it, that’s the f**king audience’s problem. It’s not running for public office.” Echoing similar sentiments, Ana De Armas told L'Officiel magazine, “I can tell you a number of shows or movies that are way more explicit with a lot more sexual content than Blonde. But to tell this story, it is important to show all these moments in Marilyn's life that made her end up the way that she did. 'It needed to be explained. Everyone (in the cast) knew we had to go to uncomfortable places. I wasn't the only one.”

‘F**k Ana de Armas for making this disgusting rape fantasy film’

Social media users slammed the film for showing the graphic scene. “I love Ana de Armas and want to at least give the film a fair shake but everything I’m hearing about blonde is just sickening. I have nothing against biopics that lean into the more farcical (rocketman and elvis being two of my favourites) but making up rape scenes”, said one furious user as another posted, “The film Blonde has JFK rape Marilyn Monroe. That seems like it might cause a hell of lot of discourse.” The next one shared, “Blonde makes up a graphic as hell rape scene between jfk and Marilyn Monroe— something that’s never been claimed. That’s not art. It’s sick.”

Meanwhile, one individual tweeted, “Anything, just anything to smear. But I guess abducting, raping and torturing children is kinda nothing to see here, is there? Where's the Epstein list?” Another stated, “Not gonna lie, it's really creep how the people defending the new Blonde movie that's exploiting Marilyn Monroe mostly seem to be men who are totally ok and even think it's NECESSARY to show extreme nudity and rape scenes in this film. I'm sorry, but it's exploitation.” One user added, “TW mention of rape, sa and abuse. To fans or marilyn monroe- if you truly love, and want to honor her, do NOT watch blonde. the cast and crew considered this an ‘ode’ to marilyn. in no way is a movie with graphic !FICTIONAL! rape scenes a way to honor someone who has passed.”

Another said, “Here are the parental warnings from reviewers who have seen blonde. rape scenes should never be apart of a movie. this is not celebrating marilyn’s life. this is not honoring her at all.”  And, one concluded, “Had to stop reading to content warnings for blonde it’s just way too much. Honestly f**k Ana de armas for making this disgusting rape fantasy film of a dead woman. Disgusting. The whole movie is graphic rape with full graphic nudity. This is DISGUSTING.”
