A QAnon conspiracy theory about the late John F Kennedy Jr and former President Donald J Trump has inspired a series of memes and jokes on social media.

QAnon believers reportedly gathered for a mass congregation at the AT&T Discovery Plaza in Dallas, Texas, on the night of Monday, November 1. According to reporter Steven Monacelli, they were hoping for a speech by JFK Jr, whom they reportedly believe is secretly alive and working with Trump to help bring down the "Deep State". It's worth noting that some gathered at the event were spotted wearing T-shirts suggesting the late son of John and Jackie Kennedy will be Trump's running mate in the 2024 presidential election.

QAnon observer Dapper Gander shared what they claimed were email correspondences suggesting some followers believe JFK Sr is also still alive and plans to "transfer power" to the 45th POTUS. "The JFK Jr wing of QAnon has become convinced that the Kennedy family is going to make some sort of grand reappearance in Dallas tomorrow and announce that Trump is President again," Gander tweeted.

Former news editor Tom Mallory shared a picture of Q believers at the event wearing Trump - JFK Jr. 2024 t-shirts.

JFK Jr, endearingly remembered as John John, tragically died in a plane crash in July 1999 at the age of 38, along with his wife Carolyn Bessette and sister-in-law Lauren. But hardcore Q believers think JFK Jr is not only alive and well, but also plans to return to public life more than two decades later in order to support Trump as his running mate in 2020.

Supporters of the QAnon conspiracy theory, which has gained popularity among Trump's base, claim that the former president is working to defeat a "deep-state cabal of Satanist pedophiles in the American government" and is communicating to the masses with the help of a mysterious figure within the federal government. The movement has inspired extensive merchandising and online forums, and has previously been promoted by some members of Congress as well.

Critics of the theory had a field day on social media, targeting Qanon followers and their apparent beliefs about JFK Jr. "Whoever threw the JFK Jr. piece into the Q stew was a genius," screenwriter Bob Schooley tweeted. "I'm sure if JFK Jr. was alive, he'd definitely want to be hanging out in Dallas with Trump cultists," he added. A user wrote, "Who's going to dress up as JFK Jr's ghost and head down to Dallas to fuck with these Q-tips?"

Another Twitter user wrote: "Sadly, their cognitive dissonance is so advanced that anyone could step to a podium and claim they are JFK Jr and the majority would believe it. 5'6, bald, and 300lbs. Wouldn't matter. They are so far gone their brain would latch onto it. To not would mean they've been duped," while another said: "Ironic how so many claim to be Christian, but worship Trump like he is God. Didn't know they think he'd actually become a God. I'm not religious, but the whole anti-christ thing is kinda starting to look possible."

"The fact there are so many people who believe that JFK Jr. is still alive and will partner with Trump to “expose all the satanic cannibalistic pedophiles” proves that we have a mental health crisis in this country and it’s only going to get worse without a national strategy," commented a user.
