5 supernatural K-dramas to watch after 'Alchemy of Souls' ends
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: The top-rated and highly-watched tvN K-drama, 'Alchemy of Souls' is now coming to an end this week with its final episode airing on August 28 at 9:10 pm KST (8:10 am ET) on the network as well as on Netflix, globally. The tvN original show has aired 18 out of 20 episodes for its first season and will soon be releasing a second part this December with 10 more episodes according to recent reports that have fans thrilled. 'Alchemy of Souls' follows the journey of an elite assassin, Naksu whose would is trapped inside the body of a servant - Mudeok who is rather weak and frail in comparison. Set in Daeho, a fictional country, the show is a supernatural fantasy drama that follows the journey of young magicians who overcome their twisted fates due to a dark magic spell that allows souls to switch bodies. 'Alchemy of Souls' has been seeing a rise in its ratings from the beginning despite a short break one-week break but now as the fan-favorite show comes to an end, here are some K-dramas to watch before Part 2 airs.

The 2017 K-drama, 'A Korean Odessey' is a 20-episode show that follows the journey of Son Oh-gong and Woo Ma-wang, two mages that are in conflict with each other as they search for a true light in an evil world.
Kingdom
The show, 'Kingdom: Ashin of the North' has 12 episodes over its two seasons which were released in 2019 and 2020, and is a historical thriller/horror K-drama that is set in the Joseon dynasty. After the death of his father, the King, crown prince Lee Chang is declared to be a traitor and is forbidden to see his father. Lee Chang and his guard set out to locate the last physician to treat the King as the two are stuck in a village plagued with a terrifying disease.
Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin)
Set in the present time, the 2017 romance fantasy K-drama that took over the K-drama world, 'Goblin' narrates the story of a 900-year-old Goblin who is cursed with a life of immortality. The way to break the curse is by removing the sword stuck in his chest. To add to this, the only person that can break the curse is his bride - who is the sole person that can see the sword. 'Goblin' has 16 episodes in total as well as three additional specials.
Mystic Pop-Up Bar
The 2020 K-drama, 'Mystic Pop-up Bar' has 12 episodes and narrates the story of a bar that is run by Weol-ju, an ill-tempered woman. The bar also has a part-time employee, Kang-bae, and a former afterlife detective, Chief Gwi. Chief Gwi visits the customers of the bar in their dreams in order to help them resolve their problems. Weol-ju is on a mission to settle grudges of 100,000 souls which she is able to do with the help of Kang-bae's unique powers.
The Tale of The Nine-Tailed
The 16-episode 2020 fantasy K-drama 'The Tale of The Nine Taled', which is also renewed for a second season that will premiere soon follows the journey of a mythical nine-tailed fox, or gumiho, Lee Yeon. Lee Yeon is a half-human, half-fox who yearns to find the reincarnation of his first love in the present-day human world.
