From music to magic and everything in between, gear up for an all-new season of 'America’s Got Talent'. As per the current season's synopsis, "The 17th season of “America’s Got Talent” returns with a new set of aspiring performers looking to compete for the ultimate $1 million prize. Executive producer Simon Cowell returns to the star-studded judging panel with global fashion icon Heidi Klum, fan-favorite comedian Howie Mandel and acclaimed actress and international superstar Sofia Vergara. The dynamic Terry Crews returns as host. This season promises to deliver some of the wildest acts to ever grace the “AGT” stage."

Who is Mervant Vera?

Mervant Vera is a professional magician who was born and raised in Philadelphia. In a conversation with The Philadelphia Sunday, he explained how he came back to his roots. "I was born and raised in Philly — I’m from West Oak Lane,” Vera said. “That’s where I grew up. I moved around Pennsylvania a little bit but I’ve been in Philly more than half of my life. When I left for college, I did a bunch of different things and came back to Philly and now I have my own show.” he said. As per his LinkedIn page, Vera has performed over 700 shows and considers himself "a black belt in magic". His other achievements include "Published Music Artist - Search "Mervant-Fabric" on all streaming platforms, Produced the world's first Hip-Hop Magic Show {magic music motion) published in the Stroud courier. Film Maker in the making". He also has a Bachelors of the Arts in Communications Studies.

Mervant Vera on 'America's Got Talent' Season 17

For his performance, Mervant combined a card trick with music. For each card he pulled, Vera came up with a rhyme, rapping in the progress, using an entire deck of cards to compose his rap song. Fans loved his performance and praised his creativity and uniqueness. In fact, many believed that it was golden buzzer worthy. "Mervant was extremely creative and I believe that there is something special about him. Good luck on your AGT journey, Mervant!!!" wrote a fan. "This was absolutely incredible!! I’m certain he got a yes, and if the Golden Buzzer was still available he definitely deserved it! Fantastic!" said another. "Wow! Was not expecting that! A rapping magician? But that's talent! I love it. I got a feeling that this season is going to be epic!" noted a fan.



 

'America's Got Talent' Season 17 premieres on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 8 pm on NBC. Following the show's premiere, you can catch all-new episodes every Tuesday from 8 to 10 pm ET/PT.
