LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 judge Katy Perry faced backlash from fans for her choice of outfits on the ABC show, with some describing them as "cheap-looking" and "chic-less." Others criticized her hairstyle, suggesting that her wigs appeared inexpensive, comparable to those found in budget stores.

"Why does Katy always wear such cheap-looking outfits? And what is this Temu hair!? #americanidol" a user asked. "Katy Perry looks ridiculous, she could've just put on a red wig, she's always doing too much," added another fan.

One fan wrote, "I haven’t watched @AmericanIdol in years, but caught it tonight. Couldn’t focus on anything other than Katy’s terrible wig. You’re rich, girl! Why are you wearing that thirsty rug on your head?? #AmericanIdol." "I can’t stand the fact that Katy Perry gets to sit there in that awful wig judging other people. #AmericanIdol," said another.

Just last week, Katy Perry faced an embarrassing moment when her outfit's top broke off during the performance. She was wearing a black two-piece outfit with a metallic ensemble on the back of her top. As Roman performed, Katy struggled with her top, leading host Ryan Seacrest to step in with a lighthearted remark.

Katy humorously acknowledged the wardrobe malfunction and joked about it being "a woman's world." Judge Luke Bryan added a playful remark about ratings, while Katy attempted to cover up with a pillow from behind the judges' table, emphasizing that it's a family show. Despite the mishap, the judges carried on with the performance, praising Roman's talent and humorously referencing Katy's wardrobe malfunction.

Will Jelly Roll replace Katy Perry on 'American Idol'?

In an interview with E!, Katy expressed her admiration for Jelly Roll's abilities, stating, "He could sell me anything." She emphasized the potential of having Jelly Roll, along with other candidates, on the show, calling it "amazing."

Despite her recommendation, Katy emphasized the necessity of having a "truth teller" on the judging panel. She underscored the importance of having someone who can deliver honest feedback with respect, highlighting her desire for a balanced judging dynamic.

As a mentor on Season 22's Disney Night, Jelly Roll demonstrated his ability to connect with contestants and provide valuable guidance. His charismatic personality and genuine passion for music struck a chord with both the contestants and the audience, garnering widespread praise.

Replacing Katy Perry, a pop superstar renowned for her bold personality and vibrant stage presence, would undoubtedly pose a challenge. However, Jelly Roll's authenticity and knack for offering constructive criticism with respect could potentially fill the void left by Perry's departure.
