'American Idol' Season 22 fans left disappointed after ABC show snubs Amari Keys performance amid elimination
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 Hollywood Week wrapped up with snubbing a series of contestants' performances including fans' favourite, Amari Scott Keys. During the latest episode, around 143 hopefuls performed to advance to the Showstoppers round. However, the two-hour duration didn't permit the ABC show to show the performances of all contestants.
Additionally, the ABC show judges, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, had to make a harsh decision and eliminate half of the contestants. The judges advanced only "best of the best" 56 contestants to the Showstoppers round. Amari was also eliminated during Hollywood Week and the viewers were left furious as her performance was not shown.
However, Amari reflected on her snub and elimination in a latest Instagram post. She shared a selfie and wrote, "I’m soooo grateful for the opportunity @americanidol gave me! Although I didn’t make the cut and my performance wasn’t aired the talent on this season is PHENOMENAL, this will NOT be the last time you see me."
She added, "This experience has re-lit a fire under me for music and life! Make sure you stay tuned!" However, the social media user commented, "So wanted to see more of you." Another person added, "We are all so proud of you regardless! You need to all get back together!" Another internet user penned, "Now I know, they bet not be playing and bring you back as a wild card or something. You're too important to just be let go. AI has to really stand for representation."
Meanwhile, an X user tweeted, "Idol out here playing games.. We can call this competition right now if that's the best they can do.. Not showing Amari is so ridiculous considering some of the nonsense we've seen tonight." Another viewer said, "Disappointed we didn't get to hear @SryAmari tonight. Fantastic talent who will be a star one way or another."
