LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 21 treated fans to multiple talented singers in Nashville, Las Vegas, New Orleans and many other states. While the ABC network's competition show gave raw talent a stage to become the next singing sensation, the daughter of a famous musician also got a chance to show off her voice.

Kaya Stewart, daughter of famed musician Dave Stewart, recently sang her heart out in front of judges Katy Perry, Lionel Riche and Luke Bryan. While the 'American Idol' judges were thrilled with Kaya's performance, social media users slammed the aspiring singer as a 'nepo-baby."

Kaya Stewart receives a standing ovation

Kaya performed an original song titled 'This Tattoo,' written by her famous father Dave. The Eurythmics, a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, were there to accompany his daughter on guitar. Lionel quickly recognizes Dave, as they were inducted into the Rock Hall together. Lionel gave Kaya tips as a songwriter and says he likes the sound of her voice. Meanwhile, Luke thinks Kaya is worthy of competing. Katy liked how she used her head voice. All three judges gave Kaya a standing ovation for her performance.

The social media brutally slammed Kaya for auditioning on 'American Idol' Season 21. A user tweeted, "@katyperry honestly.. it's the Voice from here on it. Seriously discouraged with the actions with Dave Stewart's daughter. It's not fair. U 3 worked so hard for your talent and then to entertain a celebrities daughter. Maybe she's a good songwriter. Not a singer." Another user said, "@katyperry nepotism babys Dave Stewart's daughter on national TV 😓Eurythmics 💯 but this child was flat generic so discouraged w/ Luke Lionel & U. Nepo baby's so many other talented non-celebrity civilians out there Why? I've lost so much respect for the show 4 all 3 of you 😓." Another user said, "Ok, this was bad just because you ignored the basis of the show and cut her a break and she wasn’t very good. Then I had to watch Dave Stewart of the Eurithmics, hall of fame, great group, Annie Lennox, bring his kid on the show and she was worse yet. Sold out." Another user slammed Kaya saying, "Love Dave Stewart but his daughter on @AmericanIdol is pure nepotism. If he wasn’t there for the voice test, she was bluntly nothing special. Subjective I know. But lots been rejected who have more talent." Another user wrote, "I bet the judges had to say yes because she was the daughter of Dave Stewart 😭😭😭 Not saying the girl can’t sing but it’s like the judges couldn’t say anything bad that could’ve helped her in the long run 🤷🏽‍♂️ because he was there." Another user added, "She just used her famous Dad card to get the Golden Ticket. Yes she can sing but after that story knew she was going through no matter what. Idol judges need to all be changed next year or this show will just go down hill."
