'American Horror Story: 1984' leaked synopsis hints at several deaths but will Brooke be the Final Girl?

The Final Girl is a classic horror trope about the naive sole surviving female who lives to tell the tale. What are the odds it's not Brooke?

Spoilers are something every fan dreads but they are also extremely interesting conversation starters, as the 'American Horror Story' fandom must be feeling today. A Twitter fan account has posted an alleged synopsis of the much far away seventh episode of Season 9: '1984' which, if it turns out to be true, might wipe off half the campers who are trying to escape the Night stalker and Mr. Jingles.

The account that goes by the name @ahsfxdaily shared: "Alleged synopsis for #AHS1984 - 9x07: 'It's Halloween night and those who managed to survive the massacre at Camp Redwood are still haunted by their past.'" Going by the plot as of now, there are eight people on the campsite at Camp Redwood: Brooke (Emma Roberts), Montana (Billie Lourd), Xavier (Cody Fern), Chet (Gus Kenworthy), Margaret (Leslie Grossman), Rita (Angelica Ross), Trevor (Matthew Morrison), and Ray (DeRon Horton).

With the psychopath killer on the loose, who is back to finish the massacre he had started 14 years ago at Camp Redwood, these campers are fighting and fleeing for their lives, because there's the Night stalker haunting them too. And if the alleged synopsis isn't a hoax, it means that not all eight of them make it past the first round of horror, expected to unleash in the upcoming third episode.

But that also led way to a discussion about Brooke Thompson's likeliness of being the signature 'final girl' in slasher horrors. For those unaware, the 'Final Girl' is a classic horror trope which "refers to the last girl or woman alive to confront the killer, ostensibly the one left to tell the story." Considering that Brooke has already done those extremely questionable stereotypical white people things in most horrors, like running into a tree, tripping while escaping the murderer, and worst - answering the phone in the midst of nowhere, Brooke does seem like the emblem of a final girl. Unless, Roberts plays her 'Scream 4' part here too and turns out to be the villain all along, tricking people into sympathizing with her, while Montana emerges as the Final girl.

Twitter @ahsnews_feed shared in a very interesting theory, "Brooke’s involved, Montana could be final girl against Brooke," and honestly? It does not seem too far fetched. Montana, freaky and badass as she might be, does have that air of honesty about herself - something that is far more believable than Brooke's frigid naivete. She is the typically sweet, virginal, traumatized girl, but what kind of a person has the guts to walk out into open darkness right after they have been chased by the murderer if they are not associated with the killer? Food for thought!

'American Horror Sory: 1984' airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm, only on FX.
