Alden Ehrenreich starred as the titular character in 'Solo: A Star Wars Story,' with Donald Glover replacing Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian and Joonas Suotamo reprising his role as Chewbacca from 'The Force Awakens' and 'The Last Jedi.' Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandiwe Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Paul Bettany made their franchise debuts with the movie. Critics gave 'Solo: A Star Wars' mixed to good reviews, praising its characters, particularly Ehrenreich and Glover, as well as its score and action sequences, while its story and tone were heavily criticized, and the film went on to flop at the box office.

Following the film's failure, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy assured us that 'Star Wars' would not repeat the trend of young Han Solo recasting. With 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' bringing the franchise back to life, Lucasfilm wanted to expand the narrative with a series of anthology films, beginning with the critically acclaimed 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' in 2016. Fans of Alden Ehrenreich are now furious as Disney appears to put the failure of the film 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' on his lap.

Alden Ehrenreich accidentally reveals there are two more Han Solo movies in the making

Here's what fans have to say about it. "Star Wars is the kinda fandom that will not only let you know they don't like an actor, they will viciously bully that actor into hating the art of acting itself and leaving all social media. So, yeah, Alden Ehrenreich was not the problem people had with Solo," one tweet read. Another said: "A) Alden was well received by critics and audiences B) SOLO flopped because it was a bad movie with a publicly toxic production C) slighting an actor who hasn’t gotten much work since for something you know isn’t true to distract from your horrible management is shitty behavior". Another added, "Wow, harsh dude. I thought Solo was actually pretty cool, just didn’t need to be about Han, but it still was fun! Alden Ehrennreich was great, don’t throw him under the bus like that. #StarWars #Solo"

A fan tweeted, "The cynical side of me thinks they're throwing Alden Ehrenreich under the bus so they can validate deepfaking/cgi'ing more dead people into movies :(" Another said, "Audiences accepted Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Donald Glover as Lando. Alden Ehrenreich did a fine job conveying the humanity, humor, and kindness of Han before he becomes beat down by the smuggler trade. The movie let him down. He didn't let the character down."

One fan pointed out, "That should not be the takeaway from Solo. Maybe don’t make a checklist origin film directed by someone who doesn’t have a unique directing voice and schedule it a WEEK after Avengers Infinity War. Alden Ehrenreich was not the problem with that movie. Also Solo wasn’t bad." Another chimed in, "Alden was not the issue with Solo AT all. He was great as Han. He deserves the chance to come back as much of any of the other actors."
