North Carolina is where Corkey is from. She had a strong affinity for and ability with animals from her early years, and she has had many cherished pets over the years.

She went to veterinary school after high school to treat sick and wounded animals before taking a position at a nearby horse farm in Lexington, Kentucky, where she assisted in the care of over 400 horses.

Corky learned how to work with large cats and other animals from an experienced animal trainer she met when she was employed there.

She was quite impressed with the way he trained them—which Corkey has since adopted—using positive reward, compassionate procedures, and extreme caution.

Her adventure to train animals for movies began at that point. Her popularity quickly expanded as more people in Hollywood became aware of her work. Furthermore, her incredible career has included collaborations with Oprah Winfrey, Dolly Parton, Bill Murray, Robert De Niro, and several more.
