PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: In a sneak peek video released ahead of the upcoming round of auditions for 'America's Got Talent' Season 19, a performer named Nini mesmerized the audience with her musical prowess, commanding the stage with her performance.

During her audition, Nini showcased her talent by performing on three distinct traditional Chinese instruments. She began with a captivating song, singing while strumming the first instrument, which left both the judges and the audience entranced.

Transitioning seamlessly, she then delved into a more lively and energetic piece on the second instrument, showcasing her musical prowess and versatility with finesse.

Initially uncertain of Nini's audition on 'AGT,' the judges' skepticism swiftly transformed into awe as she unveiled her incredible talent, playing a distinctive instrument reminiscent of an electric guitar. Her performance of Flight of the Bumblebee left everyone in the room speechless and filled with amazement.

The audience erupted in cheers and applause as she delivered a flawless and captivating performance, leaving everyone in awe. As Nini took her final bow, a thunderous standing ovation moved her to tears.

Once the audience quieted down, Sofia Vergara was the first to speak, expressing her admiration for Nini's performance. She described it as "unexpected and spectacular," and praised the uniqueness of her act, stating that it was exactly what they look for on 'America's Got Talent.'

Heidi Klum followed with her praise, describing Nini's performance as "mesmerizing" and complimenting her incredible speed by saying, "Your playing was insane. You’re like, so fast.”.

Howie Mandel also commended Nini's originality, highlighting that auditions like hers are the reason he loves being a part of the show. He shared, “I see things and hear things like I’ve never seen or heard them before. And you are that person.”

Simon Cowell expressed his deep admiration for Nini's performance, stating that it would be foolish for anyone not to want her to join their tour. He praised her abundant talent and charisma, calling her audition one of the best he had seen in a very long time. “It’s one of my favorite auditions I’ve seen for a long, long, long, long time,” Simon said. 

It came as no surprise that Nini received resounding approval from all the judges during her incredible audition, guaranteeing her a spot in the next round of 'AGT.' We are eagerly anticipating her next performance and can't wait to see what musical masterpiece she will showcase next.



 

Who is Nini on 'AGT' Season 19?

Nini, a contestant on 'America's Got Talent' Season 19, hails from Taiwan and has dedicated over 20 years to studying and performing with Chinese traditional folk instruments. Her artistic journey has taken her across Europe, the USA, Canada, China, Japan, and Taiwan, showcasing her talents to audiences worldwide. 

Hailing from Taiwan, this versatile musician showcases proficiency across a spectrum of instruments. From the Irish banjo and ukulele to five traditional Chinese instruments—the zhongruan, liuqin, sanxian, yueqin, and pipa.

In a recent email exchange with NBC, Nini expressed her passion for music and her desire to educate others about her instruments and share the rich culture of Taiwan with a global audience.

Through her innovative approach to blending modern genres such as rock, metal, and electronic dance music with the distinctive sounds of her traditional instruments, Nini is on a mission to create unique and captivating music that resonates with listeners worldwide.

“I think that many people around the world have never seen or heard my instruments, so if I can get just one person in my stream to remember or be interested in my instruments and culture, I feel I have accomplished my goal,” she said.

Originally from Yuanlin City in Changhua County, Nini embarked on her musical journey at the age of seven when she started studying traditional Chinese instruments at the Conservatorium of Tainan National University of the Arts.

After completing her education, Nini took an unconventional path by busking for a year before resigning from her job as a music instructor on Liuqiu Island, located near Kaohsiung.

'AGT' Season 19 contestant Nini won the 2020 Gamers Got Talent

Nini's exceptional performance in the 2021 Gamer's Got Talent competition on Twitch TV earned her a well-deserved victory. Demonstrating her musical prowess, she flawlessly blended three songs on various instruments in a captivating performance that amazed both judges and viewers.

Hailing from America, Nini is a talented musician who creates folk music with a unique Celtic and Medieval influence, often infusing her unique touch into popular video game soundtracks. As a self-made artist, she actively promotes her music on platforms like YouTube and Twitter, where she is known as Erutan and "katethegreat19" respectively.
