Who formed V. Unbeatable?
V. Unbeatable, a dance group from Mumbai, gained attention and support on 'America's Got Talent' by sharing their difficult living conditions in the city's slums.
The emotional connection deepened when viewers learned that the group was named after their late co-founder, Vikas Gupta, who tragically passed away while practicing acrobatics.
V. Unbeatable was founded by Vikas and Om Prakash in 2012.
What V. Unbeatable has been up to since winning 'AGT'?
V. Unbeatable, the winners of 'AGT', were unable to enjoy their victory due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They had to cancel their upcoming performances worldwide and revert to their previous lifestyle.
Some members of the group even resorted to selling vegetables on the roadside to earn money during the lockdown.
While having a chat with NPR, Om Prakash said, "I’m scared that all our hard work will go down the drain."
Choreographer Swapnil Bhoir added, "What was supposed to be the best times of our lives became the toughest."
During a September 2020 interview, Swapnil said, "You may win or achieve something great, but that doesn't mean your life is set. Sometimes you have to start from zero again, and we're prepared to do that."
After the lockdown restrictions were lifted, V. Unbeatable managed to recover and grow their group to 45 members. They made a remarkable comeback by performing internationally at Dubai's Global Village, a well-known platform for showcasing talent from various countries.
V. Unbeatable's creative director Maahesh More talked about their 'AGT' win and said, "Everything that we had worked towards was finally bearing fruit."
More went on to say, "It gave us recognition and validated us in the eyes of a lot of detractors."
On the other hand, Vaibhav Moore, who is the manager of the dance squad, talked about their Global Village act.
"To be able to perform at a stage like Global Village in front of thousands every day, I feel like this was the break we needed after the lull of Covid," Vaibhav said in a January 2023 interview with The Khaleej Times.
The dance troupe continues to win the hearts of the people now too.
