Jada Pinkett Smith talks about the new docuseries

In a press release, executive producer Smith highlighted her journey with the 'African Queens' and said, "There are so many stories to be told in regard to the Black experience globally. I think that it's important to tell the stories now because we can and haven't always been able to." She continued, "Even though there's a lot more work to do, we're at a place now where we have the ability and the opportunity to tell stories that have been forgotten as well as the stories that are part of our everyday lives, and what a gift that is. It's a testament to standing on the shoulders of all of those that came before us that didn't have the opportunities that we have but were part of carving out the path for all of us to get to where we are today. 'African Queens' is in honor of that."

'Sounds cool. But we still want Warrior Nun Season 3'

The teaser trailer of 'African Queens' seems to have re-energized the fan-led 'Save Warrior Nun' protests online. After Netflix dropped the trailer for the upcoming documentary, 'Warrior Nun' fans took it as an opportunity to vent at the streaming giant on Twitter. One fan said, "Looks interesting - but when I read Warrior queen all I can think about are those you canceled unjustly: NETFLIX BRING BACK OCS #SaveWarriorNun #WarriorNun." Other fans jumped in with similar rallying cries with one saying, "Sounds cool actually. But we still want #WarriorNun season 3 above everything else." One comment on Netflix's post with Smith's docuseries trailer simply read, "We want WARRIOR NUN." Hashtags pored in with another fan writing, "This looks cool. Feels like a Black History check mark for you folks, though. But that's probs just how I feel about your overall vibe...with the whole 'Look, diversity!' then cancelation after a month. Sell Warrior Nun rights." It looks like fans of 'Warrior Nun' just won't let the series cancellation go that easy.
