Just before 'A Million Little Things' went on its winter break, Gary Mendez (James Roday) broke up with Maggie Bloom (Allison Miller). The breakup happened suddenly yet it was a long time coming that they separate their paths.

Maggie had been entertaining the idea of moving to Oxford and wanted to give it a try, completely unsure of how she would take their relationship forward. On the other hand, Gary was at a time in his life where he was ready to propose to her for marriage.

But when Maggie happens to discover the ring in one of Gary's drawers, it leads to a discussion on how ready Gary is for a commitment, and how Maggie is not. Finally, they part ways on the note that just like Maggie wishes to discover who she is, Gary needs to figure out who he is with Maggie.

Three months later, Maggie is still reeling with the effects of the breakup, unable to be with Gary, unable to move on from him. Gary, on the other hand, isn't fully over Maggie himself, even returning to his old ways of philandering around Boston.

The two meet at Danny Dixon's (Chance Hurstfield) opening night, the air is immediately filled with tension. Maggie's attempt at talking to Gary goes in vain as he pushes her away, refusing to listen to her or talk about his feelings.

Gary also has some serious anger issues. He is yelling behind cars that cut him on the street or don't stop at 'stop' signs. So much so that his close friend, Rome Howard (Romany Malco) says he is concerned about Gary and his increasing anger problem, suggesting he take anger management classes.

His anger and frustration could be credited to his breakup with Maggie, one from which he hasn't fully recovered. At the end of the episode, he comes face to face with the possibility of death and just how his anger could lead to his end. Will he be able to control his anger? Plus he still has no idea about Eric (Jason Ritter) and what is happening between him and Maggie. When he does find out, will he be able to think straight through the fog of his anger?

Separately, the co-stars will share screen space in a new avatar in the upcoming movie, 'Psych 2: Lassie Come Home', which is due to release sometime in April.

'A Million Little Things' airs on ABC on Thursdays at 10/ 9c.
