MOSCOW, RUSSIA: Paramount+ and Showtime's new historical drama series 'A Gentleman in Moscow' is becoming increasingly intense with each episode, drawing viewers into the world of Count Alexander Rostov (Ewan McGregor) as he navigates life within the confines of the Metropol Hotel in Moscow, Russia.

In Episode 4 of 'A Gentleman in Moscow,' the spotlight turns to Rostov's daily life within the Metropol Hotel. His life drastically turns after he meets a young girl, Sophia (Billie Gadsdon).

There's a lot to uncover in 'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 4. So, let's jump in!

In Episode 4, viewers witness Rostov having resided at the Metropol Hotel for a decade. He maintains his routine, living much as he did before, with occasional visits to the hotel's rooftop.

Meanwhile, the ongoing violent resistance led by Mikhail 'Mishka' Fyodorovich Mindich (Fehinti Balogun) against the country's authorities takes center stage, prompting concern and drawing attention from those around him, including Rostov.

He becomes increasingly upset witnessing the people of Russia falling into starvation. His anger towards the authorities escalates as he perceives their actions in seizing farmers' lands as a direct insult, fueling his growing anger.

Following his outburst and insult towards the leader, Mishka's temper flares up, leading to a tense confrontation with the Metropol guards.

As tensions escalate, security steps in to intervene, escorting Mishka away, leaving those present shocked and uncertain about what will unfold next.

Mishka's sudden departure from the Metropol plunges Rostov into profound sadness and confusion.

Rostov grapples with the possibility that he may never see his friend again, fearing that the authorities might have killed him.

As seen in previous episodes, the authorities killed Prince Nikolai Petrov (Paul Ready) because he was attempting to escape the country.

Given this precedent, it is likely that the authorities may have also killed Mishka for insulting the new leader of the country.

It's a grim reality that Mishka's fate hangs in uncertainty, leaving the situation with the starving farmers even more dire and uncertain.

After Mishka's death, many farmers may have also died, further highlighting the devastating impact of the authorities' actions and the widespread suffering among the population.

As 'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 4 progressed, Nina (Leah Balmforth) came to meet Rostov along with his daughter.

Nina revealed that her husband had been sentenced to five years in jail, expressing her desire to accompany him, but she needed someone to care for her daughter in her absence.

Nina asked Rostov to take care of her daughter, Sophia until she returned. In the final scene of the episode, Rostov agrees to look after Sophia.

This selfless act of kindness demonstrates Rostov's deep sense of responsibility and willingness to support his friends in their time of need.

Perhaps this little girl can breathe new life into the Metropol, revitalizing Rostov's existence, much like Nina did all those years ago.

In the upcoming episode, Rostov could spend more time with Sophia within the walls of the Metropol, caring for her as if she were his daughter.

However, the authorities may become agitated because Rostov allowed someone into his room without permission.

This could create a problem for Rostov, as he is sentenced to confinement at the hotel and is not in a position to make major decisions.

The authorities may also try to create difficulties for Rostov, potentially even pressuring him to part ways with Sophia. This could lead to a heartbreaking dilemma for Rostov, torn between his allegiance to Nina and his compliance with the directives of the authorities.

Given Rostov's nature, he may opt to challenge the authorities to secure Sophia's continued stay at the hotel. This could lead to a dramatic showdown, showcasing Rostov's determination to protect and care for Sophia at all costs.
