MOSCOW, RUSSIA: Paramount+ and Showtime's new historical drama series 'A Gentleman in Moscow', adapted from Amor Towles' novel of the same name, revolves around the confined world of Count Alexander Rostov (Ewan McGregor).

'A Gentleman in Moscow' made its debut on Paramount+ with Showtime on Friday, March 29. The second episode, which premiered on April 5, further explores Rostov's experiences within the confines of the hotel.

Starring Ewan McGregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Fehinti Balogun, Leah Harvey, and Johnny Harris in pivotal roles, the series transports viewers to the tumultuous aftermath of the October Revolution.

In 'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 2, Rostov meets with his old friend, Mikhail 'Mishka' Mindich (Fehinti Balogun), who has become a leader in the resistance against the Russian nobility in Moscow.

Before the revolution, Mishka expressed a desire to marry Rostov's sister, but Rostov objected because Mishka wasn’t from a Royal family.

In this episode, Rostov also parted ways from Nina Kulikova (Alexa Goodall) because she had to return to school after New Year's Eve.

However, Nina gifted him the keys that could unlock any door in the hotel. Rostov unlocked the door to the roof and saw the sky for the first time since his house arrest began.

In 'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 2, Rostov apologizes to Mishka for his past actions, particularly for not considering him worthy of marrying his sister.

In the upcoming episode, Rostov may seek to reconcile with Mishka and rebuild their friendship. However, Mishka's commitment to the revolution and the fight against the Tsarist aristocracy, as depicted in Episode 2, could complicate their friendship, given Rostov's background.

The class difference between Rostov and Mishka may introduce complexities and hurdles as they navigate their friendship in Episode 3.

Rostov might also use the keys provided by Nina to unlock doors and observe the activities of the Leninists. As someone who has been isolated from the outside world due to his house arrest at the hotel, Rostov may feel a strong curiosity about the events unfolding in Moscow.

'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 2 is now streaming on Showtime and Paramount+
