MOSCOW, RUSSIA: Paramount+ and Showtime's new historical drama series 'A Gentleman in Moscow' is adapted from the highly praised novel of the same name by Amor Towles.

'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 1, which premiered on Paramount+ on Friday, March 29, introduces viewers to the confined world of Count Alexander Rostov (Ewan McGregor) as he adapts to life under house arrest in the Metropol Hotel in Moscow, Russia.

In the last scene of 'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 1, Red Army soldiers shoot Prince Nikolai Petrov (Paul Ready), forcing Rostov to witness the tragic event helplessly.

'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 2 might expand on the aftermath of Petrov's death and its impact on Rostov. Osip Glebnikov (Johnny Harris) might keep a close eye on Rostov to ensure that he does not attempt to leave the hotel.
