In 'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 2, set in 1922, viewers witness a significant evolution in the friendship between Rostov and Nina.

They spend time together engaging in playful activities and indulging in a bit of harmless spying on hotel guests. However, it seems that Rostov's happiness is always short-lived.

In Episode 1, Rostov lost his friend Nikolai Petrov (Paul Ready), and now in Episode 2, he is at risk of losing his young friend Nina.

As Nina's departure draws near, with her impending return to school in the new year, Rostov finds himself facing the prospect of her departure with a sense of loss, given that he has no other friends at the hotel.

The authorities have already warned Rostov that leaving the hotel would result in his death, as seen in Episode 1.

Will Nina's absence deepen Rostov's sense of loneliness and isolation at the hotel? It would be intriguing to see how Rostov spends his time at the hotel after Nina's departure.

New Year's Eve marked Nina's final day at the hotel. However, before leaving, Nina presented Rostov with a gift: the key that unlocks every door in the hotel.

Rostov used the key to unlock a door leading to the hotel's roof. There, he stood, soaking in the beauty of the sky, for the first time in a year.

In the upcoming episode, Rostov could use the key to access any room in the hotel, giving him a sense of freedom.

Given that he has the key, Rostov could potentially uncover secrets hidden within the hotel, including those related to the Leninists.

Rostov could uncover clues that shed light on the activities and motives of the Leninists, providing him with a deeper understanding of the world outside the hotel.

However, Rostov may find himself confronting the Leninists alone, without Nina by his side. He may find himself longing for Nina, who was once his source of strength within the walls of the hotel.
