SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Aside from the regular excitement around Blackpink's highly anticipated comeback with the pre-release single 'Pink Venom', fans of the girl group are really busy as they vote for Blackpink who is nominated for various titles at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. It has been years since Blackpink attended a music show or an award ceremony so fans had very little hopes about the girl group attending the 2022 VMAs.

Looks like the upcoming Blackpink comeback has been timed perfectly in order to allow the girl group to promote their new single 'Pink Venom' internationally. On August 16, it was announced that Blackpink will attend the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards that will be held on August 28 at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, USA. This marks the girl group's first performance at an award show after their performance at the 2018 SBS Gayo Dejun.

Since Blackpink's Lisa is also the only K-pop soloist to be nominated in the 'Best K-pop' category, fans anticipate the girl group to perform Lisa's hit single, 'Lalisa' at the show. Blackpink's recent performance for the video game PUBG titled 'The Virual' is also nominated in the 'Best Metaverse Performance'. Blackpink last won the 'Best Summer Song' for their 2020 release, 'How You Like That' at the 2020 VMAs.
