Met Gala 2022: Fans share their versions of BTS looks as group is missing from event
After a lot of ‘will they, won’t they?’, the chatter around BTS’ appearance at Met Gala which took place on May 3, seems to have ended globally. In 2021, 2NE1’s CL and Blackpink’s Rose became the first two Korean idols to make their debut at the Met Gala event while 2022 only saw NCT’s Johnny Suh in attendance at the event. With Johnny becoming the first male K-pop idol at the 2022 Met Gala, he soon became the talk of the town, as he should. Fans of K-pop enjoyed his interactions with Gigi Hadid as well as the Momager, Kris Jenner, and have been glad to have some representation at the yearly fashion event.
Ahead of the show, a lot of speculation about BTS’ appearance at the event was being discussed online and ARMYs really thought that Big Hit Music’s radio silence for the past couple of days could be considered a hint that the boys were going to make an appearance at the show. But, it seems like fans of BTS have finally accepted their fate as BTS failed to make an appearance at the Met Gala in 2022. Instead, ARMYs have made their own version of the event as they shared their funniest moments including BTS members wearing outrageously funny outfits.

Did BTS attend the 2022 MET Gala?
While BTS members have not yet been invited to the MET Gala, they were obviously absent from the 2022 event but fans are claiming that given BTS’ star power, it is right to say that the Met Gala could not afford BTS’ presence. Other fans are also claiming that the boy group’s ‘Blood Sweat and Tears’ era would be the best fit for this year's ‘Gilded Era’ theme while their ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ concept photos are very clearly giving Golden Era vibes. Not only that but, fans also began talking about how various outfits from the show perfectly resembled BTS’ past album covers.
