Showtime's ‘Your Honor’ is getting more confusing than ever. Airing after a one-week hiatus, the episode begins with the courtroom trial after Michael Desiato (Bryan Cranston) manages to get his colleague Sarah LeBlanc (Lorraine Toussaint) out of the way — just like Jimmy Baxter (Michael Stuhlbarg) wanted.

The respected New Orleans judge seems to be in turmoil after his teenage son, Adam (Hunter Doohan), got involved in a hit-and-run. Now, he has two options: Either to comply with Jimmy's demands to free his criminal son, Carlo Baxter (Jimi Stanton), or turn himself in. It remains to be seen what happens in the end. In the court, we see Justin James (Rickey Eugene Brown) come to the stand as Michael points the “D” tattoo behind his ear, which shows his affiliation to the Desire gang.

Why is ‘Your Honor’ Episode 8 not airing this week? Here's what to expect when Showtime series returns

As the case becomes more complicated than ever, especially with lawyer Fiona McKee (Maura Tierney) coming into the picture, it seems the tale could go incredibly wrong.

The eighth episode in the 10-episodic limited series brings more suspense as the love triangle between Adam, his teacher Frannie (Sofia Black-D'Elia) and Fia Baxter (Lilli Kay) comes into play. After his class, Frannie calls Adam and hands him a photograph telling him that it's the first photo he showed her after his mother's death and that she wants him to keep it. Not just that, she cheerily announces that she has given her notice and wouldn't be teaching in the school after that semester.

Confused, Adam asks why... Frannie explains that once Adam turns 18, they wouldn't have to hide anymore. It's clear that Adam isn't too pleased and something else on his mind. In fact, when he later meets Fia, the two seem to connect a lot more than he connects with Frannie.

Towards the end of the episode, Michael meets Frannie and tells him that Adam is “waffling” on NYU. He said he might not want to go there, Michael tells her and asks, “Did he confide in you?” When Frannie is slightly taken aback, he asks her if she would talk to him and help him understand.

The final scene shows how Frannie catching Adam with Fia. Once again, the episode ends with a cliffhanger and leaves the storyline hanging in the air. What will happen now? Will Frannie tell Michael about her relationship with Adam? Fans do have a few theories ready.

“Is Adam's teacher really that emotional to sabotage a mobster's plan?” one Reddit fan wondered and another said, “The teacher will expose Adam's confession. I'm sure Michael will have to kill her in some odd fashion.” Now that will change the game entirely... Will Michael kill Frannie? A third said, “Yeah, I guess a satisfying ending would be Adam ending up with neither woman; Frannie or Fia.”

Many are even hoping she does that. One said, “I hope Adam's teacher turns him in. She's got the pictures he had taken.” Another viewer added in a lengthy post, “Adam is the grossest character on this show. Everything he's done has been for his own comfort. Adam fled the scene to make himself feel better. He throws tantrums about not being told anything to make himself feel better. He confessed to Frannie to make himself feel better. He started a relationship with Fia to make himself feel better. He wants to stay in New Orleans to make himself feel better. I'm predicting that Adam will ultimately confess to killing Rocco.”

Written by Frank Baldwin, the episode is scheduled for release on January 31 at 10 pm ET, but it will be available for Showtime App owners ahead of its linear premiere on Showtime Channel. The ninth episode will air Sunday, February 7 at 10 pm. The following Sunday, on February 14 at 10 pm, the series concludes with the finale, directed by series star and executive producer Bryan Cranston.
