LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Not a while ago Steven Yeun confirmed he has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe family as he will be starring in 'Thunderbolts'. Now, he is blessing us with Ali Wong as they are soon to embark on the comedy-drama journey with Netflix. 'BEEF' stars Yeun as Danny Cho, a failing contractor who gets into an accident with Amy Lau (Wong), a self-made entrepreneur. After a confrontation on the road, Danny and Amy’s lives become intertwined as the haves and have-nots.

Regardless, Wong is already highly visible on Netflix, after producing three stand-up specials for the streamer and starring in the rom-com 'Always Be My Maybe'. 'Tuca & Bertie' began as a Netflix series before it was picked up by 'Adult Swim' and subsequently canceled a second time. Wong is also a voice actor on 'Big Mouth' and its spin-off 'Human Resources'. Yeun already has his next collaboration lined up. As we mentioned earlier, the 'Nope' actor will be making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a mysterious villain in 'Thunderbolts,' scheduled to hit theaters in July 2024.

Revenge after road rage

The trailer introduces us to Amy (Wong), an entrepreneur who feels suffocated by the pressure of being a good wife, mother, and successful businesswoman while using a smile to hide her true feelings. We also get to know Danny (Yeun), a young man who’s been hustling all his life and has nothing to show for his efforts. Like Amy, Danny also pretends everything is okay with him, ignoring the serious mental health issues he’s been experiencing. Although Amy and Danny have opposite backgrounds, they cross paths after they both overreact to a simple parking incident. Overwhelmed by his issues, Danny leaves his parking spot without properly signaling his maneuver. Amy decides to honk and show her finger in the most aggressive way possible. Danny, in turn, responds by following Amy and starting a huge road rage incident that will shape both their lives. From that moment on, Amy and Danny become enemies for life, with each of them escalating the conflict while trying to get revenge for the injustices they think they’ve suffered.

'This is going to go so hard'

Fans were quick to share their thoughts on the new dark comedy series. A fan said, "this is going to go so hard i can already tell," while another wrote, "The Yeunaissance is upon us." A fan shared, "It's simple. I see A24, I watch it." A fan tweeted, "i'm so wishing it takes a dark turn at the end." Lastly, a fan commented, "Beef is gonna be just as crazy of a road rage story by Netflix & A24 as Unhinged! Steven Yeun & Ali Wong are giving us rage & anger!"
