Spoilers for 'Yellowstone' Season 4 Episode 9 'No Such Thing as Fair'

'Yellowstone' is back with another captivating episode and things are getting messier by the second. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) is still in the dark about who the actual culprit behind the murder attempt is and looks like Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) won't be sharing the news either. Adding to the fuel is the silent feud between the father and (adopted) son, as John takes Jamie's endorsement for Governor.

But that's not all, other family members who are loyal are making their own plays. Beth Dutton, one of the most loyal people in John's life has been coming up with tactics to use Market Equities for her family's benefit and secretly creates trouble for her company. Beth is known for her sneaky tactics which don't take into account what others will have to go through as long as her objective is achieved. But her latest stunt may have taken things too far and John won't stand for it. Here's what happened in the ninth episode and what fans thought of the situation that unfolded.

'Yellowstone' Season 4 Episode 8 Review: John and Jamie set for a final showdown

Episode 9 saw Summer Higgins (Piper Perabo) bear the brunt of Beth's plan when she is arrested and may face up to 30 years in prison. When John comes to know of this he promises to get her out but the night is where all the action happened. Joh sits Beth down and confronts her about her plan which clearly saw her use Summer for the ranch's benefit. Beth makes it clear she doesn't care and only has Kayce (Luke Grimes), Rip (Cole Hauser) and her father in mind. But John won't accept this and says that what she did was cruel and that she has disappointed him. He adds he never thought he'd say these words to Beth and Beth solemnly says she also didn't think so.

The angry father continues saying that this is his kingdom, and he'll fight with dignity with no more collateral damage. He tells her that this is his fight and it's best that he fight it alone and that she should go elsewhere while he does so. When Beth replies that this is her home, her father curtly says that it might be time to find another one. This was a slap in face to Beth who we see is quite clearly very hurt. She is later also seen weeping uncontrollably in the barn after what just transpired.

Fans who just finished watching were left heartbroken and angry at the events. Her potential exit from the ranch had them pissed at John as they brought up the solid fact that she is his best weapon and the one who always tries her hardest to protect the ranch. Some even speculated that John may have just made an enemy out of Beth and disappointed her as well. Here's what they had to say.

A fan said, "I don’t care what she did. My heart is hurting for Beth. #YellowstoneTV #yellowstone", while another commented, "Well, John, I think you've disappointed Beth, too. How many times are you going to hurt her before she stops fighting for you?! And what will you do then? Cuz she's your fiercest warrior! And wicked smart! #YellowstoneTV". A tweet read, "John Dutton just made an enemy in Beth I feel like #yellowstonetv".

Another viewer said, "Seriously, Beth's the only one holding all of the outsiders at bay. If she's not fighting for John then no one is. He'll lose everything a lot sooner. #YellowstoneTV", with yet another fan saying, "Beth is the only one trying to save the ranch and the land !!!! You do NOT want to make an enemy out of her ... #YellowstoneTV". A tweet also read, "I’m keeping a candle lit for you, Beth. Until the end, @Yellowstone. I#TeamBeth #YellowstoneTV".
