'Yellowstone' Season 3 Episode 8 Preview: Will Monica die in 'I Killed a Man Today' or can Kayce save her?
Threats, trouble and tragedy have always been a part of the Dutton household. The third season of Paramount Network's 'Yellowstone' seems to be no different. The season began with the entry of a new rival, Roarke Morris (Josh Holloway) who is hellbent on taking over John Dutton's (Kevin Costner) land. From trying his luck with Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) to approaching Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), he isn't leaving any stone unturned.
Along with all that drama and pulsating tension, the series also highlights some of the acute problems faced by Native Americans. In Episode 6, the series went on to delve deeper into a missing girl and Monica Dutton (Kelsey Asbille) was visibly shaken by that incident. "There are monsters everywhere in this world," Kayce tells her. "Ya just gotta kill 'em when ya find 'em." When he tried to tell her it was not her fault, she said, “I’m not making it my fault, I’m making it my problem.”
Moreover, when Chief Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) told her about a council to address violence against women on reservations, Monica said, "I can lead that fight." Going by the summary of the new episode, it seems this time, it will be Monica's turn to fall into trouble.
Titled 'I Killed a Man Today', the official summary of the episode reads: "Beth continues her battle with Willa Hayes and brings John a lucrative offer; Monica has a harrowing ordeal." What could really happen? Will she try to lend a hand in the fight and be targeted herself? If she does, will her husband Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) help save her or will he never know about her ordeal?
For a long time now, fans have been speculating if she will die or her character will be chopped off. Now that she is finally getting along with the Duttons, and is more or less on the same wavelength, it would be heartbreaking to see her go. But with the twists and turns in 'Yellowstone', you never know.
A promo with a montage of scenes from previous episodes has been captioned: "I could lead that fight." #YellowstoneTV!" Fans are intrigued and are wondering if she really can do it. "But they always show her in the bathtub, or shower, or having sex with Kayce or in swimming pool for PT, or naked in the dressing room getting searched or walking around the house in her underwear and a shirt. So can she really lead that fight? Just sayin'," one fan wrote.

In another sneak peek from the episode, Monica talks to Kayce about John and says: "The man has retired." The 43-second clip starts with Kayce looking for Tate when Monica tells him: "He's watching the cow horse guys with your father." Kayce realizes he's horse shopping. It's then that Monica says: "Well he should enjoy his retirement." Moreover, when Kayce says that his dad ain't retired, Monica says, "Here's what he does all day. He goes on walks with Tate, he goes riding with Tate, he goes fishing with Tate, he plays baseball with Tate. Meanwhile, you're working 16 hours a day doing his job."
With John acting like a retired man, do his children have more to fear or can they take over his responsibilities? Moreover, with that title, the biggest question buzzing in our minds is: Who will kill a man in the next episode? Is it Monica or Kayce, or perhaps John? Only time will tell.
