Global girl group XG announces comeback after success of debut single 'Tippy Toes'
XG is the name of the global RnB and hip-hop girl group from the label XGALX which made its debut in March 2022 with the single ‘Tippy Toes’. The girl group is made up of seven members and the group's name XG means Xtraordinary Girls which is apt since their debut single saw extraordinary success for an RnB girl group. With all seven members, namely Jurin, Chisa, Cocona, Hinata, Maya, Juria, and Harvey, the group had been preparing for its debut since 2017 which shows the rigorous training they have been through over the last few years ahead of their debut.
XG made their debut on March 18 with their debut single ‘Tippy Toes’ which was called a success as the song charted at Number 1 on the iTunes Alternative Song Chart in not one but seven countries shortly after its release which is extraordinary for an RnB debut single. While there had been little chatter about XG, the group appeared out of thin air, being complete with seven members who all displayed unique levels of skill in their dance performances, vocals, and rap.

Global girl group XG announces a comeback
A month after the release of their debut single, the girls announced a comeback single that drops in the months to come. On April 25, a press release from their label announced that XG was preparing for a comeback with a new single that will be released in June 2022, only three months after their debut. Defying the traditional frameworks of K-pop and J-pop (Japanese Pop), XG released ‘Tippy Toes’, a track laced with hip-hop and R&B vibes that took the music scene by shock.
XG’s debut single titled ‘Tippy Toes’
With sensible lyrics that tell the tale of their mission statement, ‘Tippy Toes’ saw XG set the scene for their future in the music industry as they declared their intention to shake up the music scene. In terms of success with their debut single, XG ranked at Number 1 on iTunes’ Alternative Song Chart in all seven countries, including Malaysia, France, and Saudi Arabia while also being ranked in the Top 10 in 15 countries, including the US and Japan which is a thunderous achievement for a rookie girl group.
By not limiting themselves to just J-pop or K-pop, XG is the company XGALX’s attempt at creating global artists that transcend the boundaries of genre. The label aims at providing its artists with a defined worldview by creating a culture of bold creativity. It has been rumored that Wakeone Entertainment’s girl group Kep1er’s Japanese-born member Hikaru was also set to join the girl group ahead of her appearance in Mnet's variety program ‘Girls Planet 999’.
