'Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition': Release date, plot, hosts, contestants and all you need to know about the celeb cookout contest

Seven celebrities including Wells Adams, Johnny Bananas, Dave Coulier, Bridget Everett, Robin Givens, Sonja Morgan and Brian Posehn will compete for the title and $25,000 for their choice of charity

Culinary reality game show, 'Worst Cooks in America' has been on air since 2010. Viewers of the show have enjoyed the light-hearted nature of the show over the past 18 seasons, five of which have been celebrity-led editions.

The show is all set to return with another season with a new batch of celebrities fighting for the title. Read on to find out more about Season 19.

Release Date 

'Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition' Season 19 will return to TV on Sunday, May 10, 2020. 

Plot

In the six-episode season, hosts Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence each lead a team of celebrity recruits through a series of intense cooking challenges to transform their kitchen skills.

The celebrities showing the most improvement over the episodes will stand a chance to compete in the finale and the winner will be able to walk away with $25,000 and donate all of it to a charity of their choice. The winner also earns bragging rights for their respective team mentor. 

Upcoming episodes feature a day-at-the-races competition, nautical-themed ceviche challenge, fan-favorite game Remote Control Chef and the return of former competitor Carson Kressley.

The finale episode is scheduled to play out on, Sunday, June 14, where the two most-improved recruits will create a three-course restaurant-quality meal for guest judges Dan Churchill, Jeff Mauro and Grace Mitchell.

The cook-off will be followed by a blind tasting post where the judges will determine who deserves to be awarded the prize money for charity.

Anne Burrell

With her trademark spiky blond hair and ecstatic personality, Anne Burrell has worked at some of the top restaurants in New York, studied culinary landscape and traditions of Italy, battled alongside Mario Batali as his sous chef on Food Network’s Iron Chef America and written a New York Times best-selling cookbook.

Growing up in upstate New York, Anne’s passion for food and cooking began at an early age. Anne feels fortunate to have found a field that satisfies her so completely. "I feel so lucky to have found my true passion in life."

Tyler Florence

For the past 15 years, Chef Tyler Florence has delighted the masses by sharing the sights, sounds and flavors of his unique culinary vision with fans around the world.

After graduating from the prestigious culinary program at Johnson & Wales University, Florence tackled the Big Apple where he helmed multiple acclaimed restaurants and established himself as one of New York City’s finest young stars.

Wells Adams

Wells Adams famous for his stint in Season 12 of 'Bachelor in Paradise' will be a part of the current season. He is also engaged to Modern Family star Sarah Hyland. 
 

Johnny Devenanzio

Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio is famous for the MTV show, 'The Challenge' as well as for hosting NBC's travel show, '1st Look'. He's also appeared in the films ', Jay and Silent Bob Reboot', 'The Head Thieves' and 'Reboot Camp'.

Dave Coulier

He is a comedian known for his roles in 'Full House' and 'Fuller House'. He also hosted, 'America's Funniest People', 'World's Funniest Videos' and his own Nickelodeon series titled 'Out of Control'.

Bridget Everett

Everett is a theater personality, comedian and actor famous for her roles in 'Inside Amy Schumer', 'Two Broke Girls', and 'Sex And The City' (movie). She also co-hosts the podcast, 'Amy Schumer Presents: 3 Girls, 1 Keith' with Amy Schumer.

Robin Givens

She's a theater, film and TV actor known for her roles in 'Head of Class', 'Ambitions', 'Sparks' and 'Tyler Perry's House of Payne'. Her marriage to boxer Mike Tyson was well-publicized and the subsequent divorce drew a lot of media attention as well. 

Sonja Morgan

Sonja is a fashion designer and a TV personality best known as a castmate on the hit Bravo series 'The Real Housewives of New York City'. She has launched a clothing line 'Sonja by Sonja Morgan' and also a perfume called 'Sonja Beauty'.

Brian Posehn

Posehn is an actor, voice actor, musician, writer, and comedian, famous for his roles in WB's 'Mission Hill' and Comedy Central's 'The Sarah Silverman Program'. He also had a recurring role on 'The Big Bang Theory' where he played the role of  geologist Bert Kibble.
