Jason Clarke's Jerry West was looked at as the man who let his temper do the talking in HBO's 'Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty' in the season premiere. However, the story behind the rage was showcased in Season 2. Growing up in an abusive family, West's only companion was a basketball. It helped him tune the noise and the abuse out. One argument is whether the sports drama was actually fair to West and his portrayal and at the other end, there's Clarke who gave the world of what West was for those who hadn't seen him.

For those who hoped it would be a Magic-West combo that would light up the NBA, including John C Reily's Jerry Buss, there was a slammin' surprise in the final minutes when West tenders his resignation. Adding to this was the sex scene with a woman at the bar right at the start of the show. This had Twitter talking while also sharing their two cents on the man who became the logo. "When this show was announced I must admit I hadn’t considered the possibility of a Jerry West sex scene #winningtime," one of the fans opined.
