‘Emily in Paris’ season 6 could just be around the corner as creator drops cryptic hints on more ‘chapters’
Lo and behold! It's that time of the year again when Emily Cooper fashionably arrives in our lives to spill the glitter and the glamour warranted by an exclusively European lifestyle! As the impending release date of Netflix's 'Emily in Paris' draws nearer, excitement surrounding the popular show is hitting the ceiling. All ten episodes of the show's fifth season will be available on the streaming platform giant starting December 18, 2025, at 3 am ET. Keeping this in mind, speculation about a potential sixth season of the show is already circulating.
Unfortunately, KTen confirms that 'Emily in Paris' hasn't been confirmed for a sixth season yet. However, that doesn't mean that the future of the show is bleak and uncertain. With the show being religiously renewed and new seasons ordered by the streamer over the years, it is possibly just a matter of time before an official announcement is made in this regard. One can be hopeful if a previous remark from Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos is taken into account.
Show Snob previously reported that Sarandos had shed light on the show's future while speaking at Netflix's Q3 earnings conference, held in October this year. Sarandos had revealed, "I wanted to give you a little bit of color into 2026. We're really particularly excited about a few things coming up next year like the returns of some of our biggest and most beloved shows like Bridgerton, Beef, Emily in Paris, One Piece, Outer Banks, Virgin River, The Gentlemen, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Running Point, Ginny and Georgia, Lupin, all coming back for new seasons in 2026."
This declaration from the top executive at Netflix goes a long way in hinting that the sixth season might definitely be on the cards. Additionally, the show's creator, Darren Star, was quoted by Pedestrian.TV in 2024, saying that he would like to make the show for "as many (seasons) as they'll have us." As per the previous release calendars of 'Emily in Paris', it seems likely that the sixth season wouldn't arrive on the scene until late 2026 or early 2027, if it were to be renewed. The show stars Lily Collins in the titular role of Emily Cooper, a fashionable marketing professional from Chicago, who takes up a job at Agence Grateau in Paris.
The Mirror reported that the fifth season of the show will see Emily trading her plush Paris habitat for a stint in the Italian capital city of Rome. Starr summed it up perfectly when he said, "From Parisian rooftops to Roman ruins, we can't wait to share where Emily's next chapter takes us." He further added, "Emily's going to have a presence in Rome. It doesn't mean she's not going to be in Paris." The show's recurring cast includes Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Samuel Arnold as Julien, Ashley Park as Mindy, Bruno Gouery as Luc, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, and Lucien Laviscount as Alfie. Camille Razat, who appeared in previous seasons as Camille, is said to have exited the show.
