Is Lucas Bravo in ‘Emily in Paris 5’? All the characters not returning to hit show and why
Netflix's 'Emily in Paris' returns December 18, marking its return after more than a year. Season 5 will take Lily Collins and some of the other characters to Rome, but not everyone will be returning. A few cast members have confirmed their exit from the series, explaining why they won't return. That said, there are characters whose future on the show seems unclear, one of them being Lucas Bravo's Gabriel.
The show's most notable departure is Camille Razat's Camille, who was a key fixture from seasons 1to 4. Last seen, she called off her wedding to Gabriel, realizing he was still in love with Emily. She also decided to adopt a child as a single mother. Soon after, Razat announced in April this year that she would be exiting the hit drama.
"This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end," Razat said in an Instagram post. "It felt like the right moment to explore new horizons. She revealed that she had just wrapped production on two other shows (Nero and The Lost Station Girls), and would be shifting her focus to her new production company, which mainly produces “music videos and short films for now, but we’re currently developing our first feature film, something I’m truly passionate about and excited to grow." Also not returning to the show are Rupert Everett and Kate Walsh.
However, the good news is Gabriel's return in season 5. He was not seen in the latest instalment's teaser, leading to speculations about his future on the show. However, he did pop up in the teaser. “The ‘sexy chef’ was very much part of me in Season 1, and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes, and because of the direction they make him take,” Bravo told IndieWire in a recent interview. “I’ve never been so far away from him.
Also returning are Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), Mindy Park (Ashley Chen), along with Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), Julien (Samuel Arnold), Luc (Bruno Gouery), and Paul Forman (Nico). All 10 episodes of 'Emily in Paris' season 5 will drop on Thursday, December 18. The latest will also see the show go back to an all-at-once format for its latest season. At the time of writing, the streamer has not announced the season 6 renewal.
