LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: The first season of 'Dead Boy Detectives' Season 1 premiered on Netflix on April 25. The show is based on Neil Gaiman's DC Comics. As the first season ends, fans of the show and DC Comics have been wondering if there is a second season in the works.

The show tells the story of two dead boys Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri) and Edwin Paine (George Rexstrew) who choose to stay on earth instead of accepting the afterlife. Along with their human friends, they solve unsolved supernatural mysteries through their Deadboy detective agency.
At the end of the show, we see the Night Nurse's superior allowing both Charles and Edwin to stay on Earth because they are making a difference through the cases they are solving. The Night Nurse however will join them in their agency along with Crystal to solve more cases. But is there a second season in the works? Here is what we know.
'Dead Boy Detectives' to likely make a return for Season 2
While there is no official update from the makers of the show or Netflix about a possible season 2 being in the works, the end of the show has certainly teased a possible return for the show.
The final scene of the show ends under the northern lights where the two sprites sit in an igloo with the covered figure of a woman who has the same lucky charm that Tragic Mick gave Niko.
While giving an interview to Screen Rant, the makers of the show Steve Yockey and Beth Schwartz spoke about possible crossovers between the 'Sandman' universe and 'Dead Boy Detectives', as per the outlet.
However, fans must wait until Netflix determines the response to 'Dead Boy Detectives' Season 1. The renewal of the series would depend upon the critical reception and public acceptance of the show. So, if the streaming numbers are good, there could be a possibility of a second season being in the works.
What could be the plot of 'Dead Boy Detectives' season 2?
'Dead Boy Detectives' season 2 could take the journeys of Charles and Edwin further. The show's format involves the detectives solving new cases every episode so there might be more unsolved ghost mysteries waiting to be solved.
Episode 8 of the show sees Charles and Edwin welcome Crystal officially to the agency. This could fuel the romantic angle further between Charles and Crystal. The second season could also see Niko return to the show as the makers have already teased about her existence. The Night Nurse working with the team could work for an interesting dynamic considering their past.
The next season could also see a new antagonist with Esther already taken care of. We could also see Esther return in some form to make things harder for the dead boys.
