'Dead Boy Detectives' is based on Neil Gaiman's comic series of the same name, which is a part of The Sandman Universe. The show follows Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), the brains and brawn behind the Dead Boy Detectives agency.

Despite being born in different decades, they become best friends only in death, working together to solve mysteries.

Edwin and Charles, determined to stay together, face various challenges, including evil witches, Hell, and even Death herself. Assisted by a clairvoyant named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), they tackle some of the mortal realm's most perplexing paranormal cases.

The official synopsis reads "Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine decided not to enter the afterlife to stay on earth and investigate crimes that involve supernatural stuff."
