DIXON, KENTUCKY: TLC hit show '1000-lb Sisters' Season 4 concluded in March with Tammy Slaton seemingly finding her happily ever after and marrying her husband, Caleb Willingham. As for Amy Slaton, Season 4 documented her pregnancy journey with baby number 2.

However, Tammy and Amy's lives have changed significantly since Season 4 in a number of ways. When Tammy's estranged husband, Caleb, tragically died at age 40 in July, her world abruptly flipped upside down. Meanwhile, Amy has been in the middle of a divorce with Michael Halterman while struggling to manage her two children alone.

Is '1000-lb Sisters' returning for Season 5?

Season 4 of the long-running TLC show saw Tammy not only meet her new love interest but marry him after initially sparking the connection at the Ohio-based weight-loss facility. Though Tammy was originally set to leave the rehab facility, her release was delayed due to a serious trachea infection and her stay was extended. It was during that time she met Caleb, who had been at the facility for nearly a year but had just started to come out of his room due to health issues. Caleb reportedly planned to move to Kentucky with Tammy and Season 5 will likely document their new life as newlyweds and his untimely death after their separation. As for Amy, soon after the Season 4 final episode premiered rumors started swirling in February 2023 that Amy and her husband, Michael, were headed toward a split. Amy and Michael's divorce brought multiple shocking accusations and allegations to the court. However, several unanswered questions made the viewers wonder about Season 5. While TLC kept mum about the upcoming season, The US Sun reported that '1000-lb Sisters' Season 5 had started filming.

Tammy, Amy, and Amanda's physical fight put a halt to filming

'1000-lb Sisters' Season 5 filming was put on halt after a family fight turned physical. A source revealed to the outlet that siblings Tammy, Amy Slaton, Amanda Halterman, and Chris Combs, had a huge fight while filming the TLC show in Florida. According to Tammy's friend, the '1000-lb Sisters' producers decided to take the whole family to Florida to film for the upcoming season. Noting that Tammy has lost enough weight, she can finally travel without major issues. Although the crew wanted Florida to be a good time for the family, things changed with a major off-camera drama. The source claimed to the outlet that the entire family got into a huge fight during their stay. The insider shared, "The film crew was present, but they felt uncomfortable working with them because of the way they were behaving," as per the US Sun. However, Tammy's friend claimed the argument turned physical, and the family 'really got into it.' The crew has reportedly taken a six- to eight-week break from filming the upcoming season to let things cool down a bit.
