Planning the face-off for three episodes seems like a little bit of an overkill. While it has been established that The Croat is a ruthless villain, ‘The Walking Dead’ franchise has also spent years establishing how skilled Maggie and Negan are. In this case, Maggie needs to be extra careful because The Croat has taken her son, but after three episodes, it might be time for ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ to take a huge leap forward.

It looks like the creators were waiting for this mid-season opportunity to put get Negan and Maggie against The Croat, and it will finally happen in ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Episode 4.
