Will Michael Shiakallis get married on 'MAFS' Season 17? Lifetime show star hopes for a 'silly' partner after getting ditched at altar
DENVER, COLORADO: 'Married At First Sight' Season 17 groom Michael Shiakallis was ditched at the altar by his mystery runaway bride. After a devastating experience, Michael seemed to be ready to give a second shot at love.
Notably, Michael did get married to Chloe Brown. In the latest episode of the Lifetime show, 'MAFS' therapist Dr Pepper Schwartz asked Michael if he was open to taking 'another chance' on love.
Michael responded, "You know, you emotionally and mentally tune yourself for this."
He explained about joining the social experiment, "And I discovered things about myself that I didn't realize in the moment like I knew I was ready for marriage, but I didn't know I was that ready."
Michael further revealed, "So to answer your question, I would 100% do this again." However, the groom later described what he had been looking for in a potential partner.
He shared, "I mean, of course, I would love an intelligent woman, someone that you know, is very witty and quick, and is very invested in themselves."
Michael elaborated, "And I think maybe what I didn't articulate as well [is] how much I appreciate silliness, too. I know it doesn't come out here as much but I'm a pretty silly person."
The 'MAFS' groom further explained to the therapists, "And I kind of love that levity of like, you can be that strong version of yourself in whatever form you need to be, but that you also have that latitude of like letting yourself be silly and goofy."
He added, "But I would also reiterate that sweetness, like you might be a hard ass at work but there's that sweet nature that really you foster inside of you."
'MAFS' Season 17 therapists reassure Michael Shiakallis amid heartbreak
Michael Shiakallis was left heartbroken and devastated after the runaway bride ditched him at the alter.
However, 'MAFS' Season 17 experts made sure to not repeat their mistake of matching completely opposite partners and assured the groom that he would not face a similar experience in his second shot at love.
Lifetime show's psychologist and sex therapist, Dr Pia Holec, reassured Michael after his negative experience on the series and noted, "You're gonna make someone extremely happy."
Meanwhile, Cal Roberson noted that the trio of experts were 'completely, absolutely, unequivocally convinced' that they chose 'the right husband.' He praised Michael and called him a 'king'.
Another expert Pepper Schwartz said, "I really hope we could find the right person for you." Roberson noted, "We’re going to put our nose to the grindstone to see what we can do."
'MAFS' Season 17 producers slammed for stretching Michael Shiakallis' storyline
After Michael Shiakallis's failed marriage experiment at 'MAFS' Season 17, he continued to appear on the Lifetime show. Michael joined the other couples when they were jetting off for their honeymoon.
He also appeared in 'MAFS' Afterparty to discuss his devastating experience after getting ditched at the altar. However, in the latest episode, Michael again returned but this time, to give another chance at love.
However, the viewers claimed that the producers and the experts had invited Michael just to drag the Lifetime show. A social media user noted, "They are DRAGGING this Michael thing out, honey. Draaaagging. Show us the new wife or move on
Another person added, "I'm tired of this conversation with Michael." Another critic penned, "The producers said we got content to create."
Another X user tweeted, "The so-called "experts:" Hey Michael, do you still want to be on TV? Michael: Sure, why not? So here we go again. It didn't dawn on Michael that the so-called 'experts' aren't good matchmakers."
Another social media user wrote, "Why are they getting his hopes up on a 'maybe we can find someone"? What then if they can't? We're 3 weeks in, is that even enough time for them to make it work? I don't know about this.."
