DENVER, COLORADO: 'Married At First Sight' Season 17 premiered a dramatic episode with a wild bachelorette party.

The 'MAFS' experts Pastor Cal Roberson and Dr Pepper and Dr Pia have come together to match the singles with compatible partners.

The Lifetime show's experts examine the couples' compatibility with each other. However, the viewers slammed the experts for matching completely opposite singles.

Michael Shiakallis seems to be a partygoer and has an enthusiastic personality. He was paired up with Chloe Brown who seems to be calm, confused and ambitious.

The viewers have suggested that Becca Haley, who was paired up with Austin, would be perfect for Michael as they share the same interests.

'MAFS' Season 17 took to X and slammed the experts for the mismatch.

A social media user wrote, "At this point, I am 100 per cent convinced these matchmakers are just screwing with us!"

Another person added, "Awww - Austin's mom is not going to be happy with Becca at first sight. Why didn't the "experts " match Becca with Mike? They seem like they'd get each other."

Another viewer noted, "Not feeling these Matchups every year these so called experts get it wrong."

Another critic said, "The "experts" listens to what each person ask for in a partner then gives them the complete opposite."

Another X user tweeted, "It's time we all accept the realization that the show/experts do not want these marriages to work. There's just no way. Not with the people they're choosing."

Another critic said, "Do the experts not ask the candidates for pictures of what their type is?! I feel like they should try to match people based on their physical preference as well."

How do 'MAFS' Season 17 experts pair match singles?

Dr Pepper Schwartz revealed the tedious process of matching the couples in an interview with E! News.

She shared that hundreds of people apply to the show and the experts go to churches, bars, dating apps, or anywhere that people meet to 'make the prospective pool as big as people.

She added that there are more steps to the vetting process including a meet-and-greet, several interview sessions and psychological and background checks. The final step is a home visit from Dr Pepper.

Meanwhile, Pastor Cal told the outlet in a separate interview about his views on marriage on the show.

He shared, "I've learned and tell couples now that marriage doesn’t work—people work. And quite often, we want the marriage to work."

Cal Roberson claims 'MAFS' expert looks for differences for balance in relationship

Cal Roberson shared that he and other experts look for individuals who have similarities they can relate to.

At the same time, they also look for the differences that help provide balance in a relationship.

In a recent interview, Roberson shared that the pool of applicants in Denver was smaller compared to other cities that 'MAFS' has visited, in part just because the population is smaller.

He further noted to the outlet that the Mile High City also didn't provide as much racial diversity as he would have liked to see, but there was a wealth of cultural diversity among applicants.

Roberson further teased 'MAFS' Season 17 to be dramatic adding, "This is going to be one of the most twisted, turning, exciting, everything you can think of."

He further said, "There's drama, there's comedy, there's horror, there's mystery, every genre of theatrics you can think of will be in this season."
