DENVER, COLORADO: 'Married at First Sight' Season 17 star Michael Shiakallis' soon-to-be bride, Chloe Brown, ditched him at the altar. However, the Lifetime show viewers dubbed the situation 'fake'.

In the preview of the upcoming episode, Chloe walked down the aisle and handed over a letter to him noting that she couldn't continue with the social experiment. Michael broke down into tears as soon he got to know that his bride would not marry him.

Meanwhile, a Reddit user started a thread noting that the whole scene seemed fake and asked why Chloe walked down the aisle if she had decided to not marry Michael.

A social media user wrote, "If she already had a letter written, why even walk down the aisle? This seems fake." Another person added, "The whole thing stinks of deception."

Someone else noted, "I know they are, but I like calling them out on it. Like those fake viewer questions on After Party, when it was filmed months ago." Another critic said, "Drags it out waaaaay too long."

A viewer wrote, "They aren't even good at manufacturing drama. That's was last season sucked. They need to take more notes from AU/UK. Even though some of it is BS, it is still entertaining and much better than US which drags out way too long."

Chloe Brown gifts a sword and a crown to Michael Shiakallis

Michael Shiakallis was spotted wearing a bizarre crown and a sword with his wedding outfit, which sparked speculations that his appearance might have scared the bride. Michael donned an all-black tuxedo with a pale pink bow tie.

He had a huge smile on his face as his bride walked his way, but it quickly disappeared when she ran off. However, an 'MAFS' fan account on Instagram confirmed that the sword and crown were a gift from the bride to Michael.

The Instagram user wrote, "So if you think he is a weirdo for wearing these items and that she ran away when she saw him, please know that he was actually being a good sport and honouring her wishes."

What do other 'MAFS' Season 17 brides think of Chloe Brown?

During the 'MAFS' Season 17 Afterparty segment following the episode, host Keshia Knight Pulliam asked fellow brides Lauren, Emily, and Claire what they thought about Michael getting ditched at the altar.

Lauren said, "What kills me the most is that she took an opportunity from someone else who went through this very long, grueling process." She added, "Who like us, were very confident in what we wanted and were committed to marriage and the process."

Lauren further noted, "And she took that away from Michael at the moment, but someone else who would have filled her shoes and done just that." Lauren called it a 'waste of time' after going through the matching process, something 'MAFS' experts have claimed involves hours of rigorous and emotional interviews.

Meanwhile, Claire added, "Crushed." She also said, "I would just feel all the things that I was picturing about the future and having a partner would just dissolve."
