Will HYBE disband fromis_9? Jang Gyuri’s sudden exit from girl group leaves fans worried

K-pop groups disbanding is not something new that happens in the industry. Oftentimes, many K-pop groups make their debut as a collective and are not able to generate the required profit due to their lack of popularity which is when labels have to make the executive decision to disband these groups. However, off-lately, the K-pop megalomaniac label HYBE is under fire for mishandling the girl groups under their subsidiary labels.

After dissolving two fan-favorite groups, namely, Source Music's GFriend and Pledis Entertainment's NU'EST, HYBE has now made a reputation of itself as the 'disbander' label. Fans believe that HYBE acquires smaller labels only to eliminate the less famous groups under them in order to promote their own nugu's (new groups). With Pledis Entertainment announcing the exit of Jang Gyuri from the nine-member girl group, fromis_9, fans are now worried that the girl group could have the same fate as GFriend and NU'EST.

Off lately, fans pointed out how the situation with HYBE's girl groups has been very chaotic with the GFriend situation followed by what went down with Kim Garam being kicked out of Le Sserafim after her very public school bullying controversy. Not only that but adding on to it, a new pedophilic controversy involving NewJean's executive director Min Hee-jin as well as the very recent news of fromis_9 being reorganized as an eight-member collective has surrounded HYBE on all corners.

All of this has flovers (fans of fromis_9) stating that the girl group could possibly be the next group that is going to be dissolved by HYBE. One fan said, "STFU NOT AGAIN PLEDIS." Another fan said, "F**k HYBE." One more fan said, "I've already been through this THRICE please not again pledis." One fan said, "Say whatever you want about the contracts, the group, or the company, when the big boss said no it is a no, dont pretend that they dont meddle into these things. Nu'est and Gfriend are there for you to remember how dirty they did those groups."

'Why do HYBE gg's always have a problem?'

Fans are now wondering if HYBE is really trying to disband fromis_9 just like they did with GFriend and NU'EST in the past. One fan said, "Yeah, they defs disbanded Nu’est." Another fan responded, "Doesn’t Pledis’ management still handle their operations? Like they’ve mentioned a million times? Or y’all just use that as an excuse to cry?" A fan said, "Nah.. i think if they can bring profits like all the other artists under Hybe, it won't be a problem." Another fan said, "GFriend makes profit and has lots of win.they still disbanded GFriend."

One fan said, "I read some comments & I want to say that this caption is not true,fromis_9 signed a new contract to pledis & only gyuri didn't sign & she maintain her original contract from her previous company until it will expired, so basically the other members will continue their career." One fan said, "Gfriend and soumu had reached agreement to continue their contract but hybe who calls the shot to terminate the contract." Another fan said, "First, GFRIEND have a sudden disband, second LESSERAFIM Garam was kick out in the group, and third FROMIS_9 Gyuri will leave the group, because she didn't renew her contract. Why Hybe gg's always having a problem."

One more fan said, "Both lesserafim and gfriend were in source music so that theory (whilst obv fake) had a base, but here newjeans is in ador and fromis_9 in pledis its not even the same management??? they have nothing to do w one another. Also IF they disband fromis_9 its probably bc comparing to the rest of hybe the results are lacking although they are on the rise now and got exposure thanks to that hybe olympics." One fan said, "Fromis_9's stay this way suddenly feeling like izone's panorama IVE HAD ENOUGH."

One fan joked, "I need someone like donghae in fromis_9 so no members will leave donghae keep "secretive" photos of the members and said he will expose the photos if they try to talk abt disband..ahhh hayoung please do the same." One fan said, "I need fromis to disband and redebut with gyuri i cant cope with how much were gonna get without her like i need her to experience all of fromis_9's firsts together."
